It’s hard to believe that we are having to even talk about this. Chadwick Boseman, the incredible actor behind Black Panther and so many other amazing roles, has passed away at the age of 43. The King of Wakanda made a massive impact not only in the nerd world of comic book movies, but as an African American man leading a billion dollar blockbuster franchise. He also let his voice do wonders as an activist and a friend to all of his fans. Now, as the news of his passing permeates the globe, his fellow stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are reacting to this tragic news.

Many of the stars of the MCU have taken to Twitter to show their support for his family and to his memory. Mark Ruffalo, Brie Larson, Don Cheadle, and more have all shown their love for such an amazing actor and human being.

Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace. pic.twitter.com/DyibBLoBxz

“It was meant to be for Chadwick and me to be connected, for us to be family. But what many don’t know is our story began long before his historic turn as Black Panther. During the premiere party for Black Panther, Chadwick reminded me of something. He whispered that when I received my honorary degree from Howard University, his alma mater, he was the student assigned to escort me that day. And here we were, years later as friends and colleagues, enjoying the most glorious night ever! We’d spent weeks prepping, working, sitting next to each other every morning in makeup chairs, preparing for the day together as mother and son. I am honored that we enjoyed that full circle experience. This young man’s dedication was awe-inspiring, his smile contagious, his talent unreal. So I pay tribute to a beautiful spirit, a consummate artist, a soulful brother…”thou aren’t not dead but flown afar…”. All you possessed, Chadwick, you freely gave. Rest now, sweet prince.” #WakandaForever

2020 has been just the absolute worst year in recent memory. It’s just been a non stop tidal wave of terrible news, one after the other. But this is something that is completely out of left field. 2020, you win. But, as sad as it is to lose such a light in this world, he did leave a legacy of amazing films, many of which he worked on while dealing with the colon cancer that eventually took him from us.

To say that Chadwick Boseman was a star is an understatement. He transcended Hollywood and made a real impact on the lives of so many people. His charity work and activism are what should really be celebrated here. While his time as T’Challa was iconic, to say the least, we hope that he is in a better place, no longer suffering, and that his family can find comfort in his legacy. God bless you, Chadwick, you will be missed.
