‘The Batman’ Set Photos Reveal Superman And Wonder Woman

There have been several iterations of Batman on the big screen. From Tim Burton to Joel Schumacher to Christopher Nolan to Zack Snyder, The Caped Crusader has had a wild and vastly differing ride in cinema. Now, a brand new version is set to hit the silver screen, as Matt Reeves looks to bring his take on the World’s Greatest Detective to life in The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson. Reeves has stated that his take will be dark, gritty, and grounded, but will other superheroes exist in his universe? New set photos may just give us the answer.

Some BTS photos from the film, which has restarted production after the massive halt thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, showcase some people in costumes. But, not just any costumes, superhero costumes! Superman, Wonder Woman, and even possibly Hawkgirl can be spotted on set. Now, these costumes are obviously Halloween costumes, most likely fans dressed as their favorite hero. This lends the question: Are superheroes with superpowers real in this world and garnering fan support, or are they fictional characters that garner merchandizing like in our world?

While we don’t have the answer to that just yet, the thought of meta-humans and more being around in this particular universe is intriguing. We could get some interesting crossovers and some new versions of our favorite heroes on the big screen. Also, this could fall into the multiverse aspect that DC films are planning, which could lead to Henry Cavill’s Superman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman interacting with the younger version of Batman. It could end up similar to how the CW’s Arrowverse used to work, with characters on different Earths and occasionally jumping dimensions to help one another.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this scene actually shapes out, and how superheroes actually fit into the Reeves Batverse.
