Fans Are Pumped About Michael Keaton Playing Batman In ‘The Flash’

One of the biggest rumors surrounding The Flash for quite some time was that actor Michael Keaton would be reprising his role as Batman for the upcoming DC film. Keaton hasn’t played the iconic superhero in decades, and seeing him take it on for such an occasion was incredibly exciting. As such, fans were even more excited when it was indeed confirmed that Michael Keaton would be playing Bruce Wayne aka Batman again for The Flash. Now they’ve taken to social media to express their anticipation to see Michael Keaton once again wear the suit and cowl.

Obviously there are a lot of possibilities with this announcement, and fans are all over the place discussing them. While some are just happy to see Michael Keaton take on the role again, others are hoping other elements from Tim Burton’s Batman films will pop up in The Flash. Either way, since the confirmation from The Wrap, there are plenty of reasons to be excited that Michael Keaton will be reprising his beloved role from Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. Here are just some of the tweets that have been making rounds on social media from fans that are excited over the good news:

And some fans are even hoping that it could pave the way for some kind of Batman Beyond film adaptation:

No doubt many if not all of us can relate to these comments. Hopefully we’ll know more about Michael Keaton’s return to the role and the other plot details of the film soon. As for now, we do know it will apparently adapt elements of the Flashpoint comic storyline.

Andy Muschietti is currently directing The Flash from a script written by Christina Hodson. Ezra Miller will be starring as the titular superhero The Flash. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Michael Keaton will be playing Bruce Wayne aka Batman for the first time since Batman Returns. Ben Affleck is also intended to return as his Batman from the modern DCEU.

The film is currently scheduled for a theatrical release date next year on November 4, 2022. As always, stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on the upcoming superhero project as we have them. Especially now that shooting is finally underway.
