‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Rumor Suggests Many Major Characters Will Die

There are a wide variety of highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe films in development at the moment. One such film includes Thor: Love and Thunder, which promises a massive MCU cast. Unfortunately, it looks like quite a few major characters are intended to die in Thor: Love and Thunder according to a new rumor. And, considering the film’s villain is none other than Gorr the God Butcher, it certainly makes sense.

The rumor comes from 4chan, so as always it should be taken with a grain of salt. But it suggests that Gorr the God Butcher, as played by Christian Bale, will actually slaughter many of the characters set to appear in the upcoming Thor sequel. These characters actually include The Grandmater (Jeff Goldblum), Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Korg (voiced by Taika Waititi), and even all of the Asgardian actors. These characters would include Luke Hemsworth’s Thor, Matt Damon’s Loki, Melissa McCarthy’s Hela, and even Sam Neill’s Odin. So it certainly seems like a lot of characters will ultimately die in Thor: Love and Thunder if the rumor is to be true.

It also goes much further, insisting that Thor himself has to battle Gorr the God Butcher in order to stop him from killing both Nebula and Mantis. Luckily, Drax manages to save the two while Thor continues to fight Gorr. Ultimately, however, the rumor states that Thor must eventually back off and run away from the battle after Gorr defeats him.

Of course, as stated above, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. But considering that he is the film’s villain and his name is Gorr the God Butcher – it seems likely that at least some of these characters will die by his hands in Thor: Love and Thunder. Even more so considering the film will introduce new gods like Zeus who will be played by Russell Crowe. They most definitely seem to want Gorr to have quite the body count.

Taika Waititi is currently directing Thor: Love and Thunder, which stars actor Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster aka the Mighty Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also part of the film’s cast.

The film is currently scheduled for a release date on May 6, 2022.
