There are plenty of expectations for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home. A lot of these expectations resulted from rumors and leaks, many of which turned out to be true. This included the involvement of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx as Electro, and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. But it remains unseen if other rumors – specifically the involvement of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield – are correct. Despite various leaks and suggestions that they’ll be in the film, both actors have denied their participation. Now Andrew Garfield has stated he’s “done” with rumors about his appearance.
As you can see in the below video, Andrew Garfield appeared on GQ’s Actually Me. While on the show, he answered a YouTube comment which insisted Jimmy Fallon should’ve asked Andrew Garfield on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon about an alleged leaked video featuring the actor.
Here’s the comment:
“Goddamit, Jimmy. why didn’t you ask him’ about the VIDEO instead of the photo? I’d love to see what he’d come up with to dodge that.”
While he told Jimmy that a similarly leaked photo was photoshopped, he wasn’t asked about the video which circulated at the same time. This is what Andrew Garfield now had to say in response to the YouTube comment:
“This is about this Spider-Man Photoshop thing that we talked about at Jimmy Fallon. Listen, at this point.. .I’m done. We’ll all out find out when the movie comes out and we’ll either be very disappointed, or we’ll be very happy, or like, someone will say, ‘I told you so.’ And the other person was a bit, ‘I told you so.’ We’ll all find out. I’m sorry in advance.”
While it’s far from a definitive answer, it does seem to suggest that we’ll only know the truth once the film is officially out. Fans will have to wait until December then to find out if these rumors about Andrew Garfield appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home are true.
The upcoming MCU film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Hannibal Buress are all attached to appear.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
