With the year coming to an end, it’s time to look back on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There have been quite a few new developments within the ever-expanding franchise this year. This includes projects both on the small screen and the big screen. What’s more, some of these projects have retroactively connected Marvel films outside of the MCU as part of the franchise. As such, it’s clear that the timeline has become rather convoluted. Now a fan is taking this into their own hands, having developed their own Marvel timeline which includes the Multiverse.
As you can see below, the Marvel timeline was posted by user FoorAJ via Reddit. It’s quite in-depth and shows just how massive the franchise has become over the years. This timeline also utilizes the similarly expansive series “What If…?,” which further ties the Multiverse together with the main MCU. When you consider that and other projects like Sony’s Spider-Man franchises and the Venom series, it’s really interesting to see it all laid out.
Here’s the timeline:

Of course, this isn’t an official diagram of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So it should be taken with a grain of salt. But it’s definitely a nice example of how everything can fit together, so hopefully Marvel will release an official update on the topic sometime soon. Although, it’ll probably continue to get even more crazy as time goes on. Especially if Disney intends on tying franchises like Fox’s X-Men films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s definitely no limit to how crazy the franchise can become.
Thankfully, we have devoted fans that are willing to put the pieces together. As evident in this Marvel timeline which includes the Multiverse and many other such projects, there will always be a nice canon to follow.
In the meantime, fans can see the Multiverse in action with the all-new MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home, currently playing in theaters.
