One of the biggest upcoming Marvel shows currently in production for Disney Plus is Secret Invasion. We’ve already had a variety of glimpses at the upcoming series via a variety of set photos, and one such photo revealed that actor Don Cheadle would be returning for the show. While it’s unknown what his role in the MCU series will be, it appears that he’ll be tied closely with the franchise’s new United States President.
Specifically, Don Cheadle’s character Rhodey aka War Machine was spotted alongside United States President Ritson on the front page of a newspaper prop. United States President Ritson was then revealed to be played by actor Dermot Mulroney, taking over for William Sadler who played previous US President Matthew Ellis in Iron Man 3. We don’t often see the United States President referenced within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so this is certainly a nice addition to the series.
Here’s the photo of the newspaper showing Dermot Mulroney alongside Don Cheadle:

We still don’t know much about this new US President in the MCU, or what his plans with War Machine exactly are. We do, however, have the following headlines from the newspaper to go by:
“President Ritson in London for Emergency Talks”
“Ritson will arrive after the British Prime Minister brokered an emergency summit amid unprecedented tensions.”
With the series currently in production, we’ll probably have more answers as shooting continues. As for now, however, we’ve already gotten so many exciting glimpses at cast members involved with the new show. It’s definitely going to be an exciting new perspective on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and hopefully fans won’t have too long to wait for the series to hit. Until then, however, there are still plenty of other Marvel projects to get excited for.
It’s expected that the Secret Invasion series will most likely premiere on Disney Plus sometime in 2023.
