Here’s the thing about director and co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn: the man knows what he’s doing. The guy directed what is possibly one of Marvel’s best trilogy of films and has an excellent eye for characters and storytelling. The internet was set on fire when Gunn, along with producer Peter Safran, to take the reigns of WB’s DC production, and the two have been hard at work putting everything in order. This includes making Superman a “huge priority” for the studio.
James Gunn is not afraid to hop on Twitter and can give minor updates or dispel rumors about the inner workings of DC Studios. For example, many rumors have been circling about Henry Cavill’s involvement with the studio or if he’ll return to the Superman role. As Superman, Cavill returned to the big screen in Black Adam, and the actor took to the web on his personal social media profile to announce his return to the role. However, no other news has come about.
Let’s admit that the actor got a raw deal and played Superman in subpar to god-awful DC film projects. Cavill is a great Superman/Clark Kent but has yet to be shown in a proper and well-crafted Superman project. Unfortunately, there have been some reports that Cavill might be done with the role.
THR wrote a piece that suggests that Cavill may already be done as the Man of Steel, and some insiders are stating that Gunn may not be a fan of the Enola Holmes star. However, James Gunn has recently hopped on Twitter to dispel any beliefs that Superman is not on the co-CEO’s mind.
Check it out:
Yes of course. Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority.

Also, if you’ve been sleeping under a rock for a couple of years, Gunn has a habit of shooting down rumors with great precision.
He wasn’t.

Though Gunn hasn’t specifically named Henry Cavill in any of his tweets regarding Superman, there might be a chance for him and the actor to work something out. Hopefully, we’ll find out sooner rather than later when James Gunn and Peter Safran present their multi-year plan to President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav in the coming weeks.
