In exciting news for horror movie enthusiasts, an iconic slasher franchise has made its way to Max, just in time for Halloween. Fans of the series can look forward to a thrilling marathon as nearly the entire franchise, consisting of eight films, available to watch on the streaming platform.

The Friday the 13th movie franchise has carved a permanent place for itself in the annals of horror cinema. The series chronicles the chilling tale of Jason Voorhees, a relentless and brutal killer who haunts the fictional Camp Crystal Lake.

Starting from the very first installment, aptly titled Friday the 13th, the franchise takes viewers on a terrifying journey through the various chapters of Jason’s reign of terror. So, it should come as no surprise, that the first movie is trending as the 4th most watched movie on Max.

And if the original movie isn’t enough – there are 8 other movies in the franchise streaming on Max:

    Friday the 13th

    Friday the 13th Part II

    Friday the 13th Part III

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

It’s important to note that the ninth film in the series, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, is already available on Max. However, the tenth film, Jason X, is not included in the current lineup.

In early 2023, it was confirmed that a reboot of the franchise was in the works. The original creative team, including director Sean S. Cunningham and screenwriter Jeff Locker, reunited for this project. In addition to the reboot, a prequel series titled Crystal Lake is also in development. The series will be available on the streaming platform Peacock and will delve into the origins of the cursed Camp Crystal Lake. It is being helmed by Bryan Fuller, the co-creator of Star Trek: Discovery, and boasts the involvement of popular production house A24.

For now, fans can stream Friday the 13th on Max.
