    The merger between Discovery and Warner Bros has led to some interesting changes with Max, formerly known as HBO Max. For starters, the company has been adding Discovery’s recognizable genre of reality television to the platform. Now one such series on Max has viewers “angry and shocked.”

    What’s more, however, is that this series has actually become the number one series on the platform. It seems that subscribers are definitely interested in the reality television that Max has to offer. Of course, this particular series is a devastating tale, so it’s no wonder that viewers are so stunned.

    It’s an interesting story, and one that revolves around Natalia Grace. If you’re unfamiliar with her story, then this documentary is a stunning place to start. The first season, directed by Christian Conway, is titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace. The series has been retitled for its second season: The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks.

    Here’s a synopsis for the docuseries that follows Grace and how she seems to have been abandoned as an orphan after her foster family claimed she was actually an adult acting like a child, much like the events of a movie like Orphan:

    “Initially assumed to be a 6-year-old Ukrainian orphan with a rare bone growth disorder, Natalia was adopted by Kristine and Michael Barnett in 2010. However, the happy family dynamic soured when allegations against Natalia were brought by the Barnetts, who alleged Natalia was an adult masquerading as a child with intent to harm their family. In 2013, Natalia was discovered living on her own, which ignited an investigation that led to Michael and Kristine’s arrest and a firestorm of questions.”
