As the DC marketing begins to seriously heat up with their forthcoming releases of ‘Batman v Superman’ in March and ‘Suicide Squad’ in August it’s nice to see something with a little heart to remind us why we see these movies.
At last weeks Sundance Festival in Utah, Director Kevin Smith handed the already iconic ‘Suicide Squad’ prop used by Margot Robbie to his 16 year old daughter Harley Quinn Smith. The ‘Clerks’ director had received the bat from Warner Bros. as a gift for hosting the ‘Dawn of Justice League’ TV special on The CW. Harley was emotional and “overjoyed” as she discovered what her Father had given her inside the tubing.
In giving Harley the spectacular movie prop, Smith wrote on his Facebook post:
“You know what a totem is? It’s a powerful, mystical object that wards off evil and gives the bearer strength and power. Before you begin your journey where I started my adventure 22 years ago, I wanted to present you with this powerful totem.”

Harley Quinn Smith can be seen later this year in ‘Yoga Hosers’ which is directed by her Pop and starring Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp. ‘Suicide Squad’ is hurtling to US screens August 5, 2016.
