Avengers 4

‘Avengers 4’ Title Teased By The Russo Brothers – But Is It Just A Joke?

Let it never be said that the Russo Brothers don’t have a great sense of humor. In fact, before their monstrous success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Russos cut their teeth in sitcoms, most notably Community. Thus, when given the opportunity to troll one of the most excitable and anxious fan-bases ever, the MCU fans, Joe and Anthony Russo jumped at the chance on their Instagram account, which in turn started a whole new series of theories for Avengers 4.

Posting a picture is simply that of a sign that read ‘Infinity Mirrored Room: Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity’, and wrote as the caption, ‘A4 Title reveal…’. The brothers then “promptly” deleted the post, but not before some screenshots by fans could be taken. Fans have been down right begging for the title of the fourth Avengers film since even before the release of Infinity War. So, any little clue that comes out acts like chum in the water, and the fans are the sharks.

Fully aware of this fact, and loving a good prank, the Russos take every opportunity they can to take stabs at the salivating fan-base. And, while Kevin Feige previously stated that the title would be revealed closer to the debut of the Captain Marvel movie, many fans expected something to be announced at the San Diego Comic Con this year, but they got nothing more than another prank from the Russos.

Avengers: Infinity War Extended Cut Thanos

This image has many on Reddit posting their theories for the title, with Avengers: Eternity and Avengers: Aftermath being the prevailing choices. Other noted titles are Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet, which was seemingly the casts’ working title while shooting, and Avengers: Endgame, which ties in to comments from both Dr. Strange, as well as Tony Stark during the Age of Ultron film.

Truth be told, while theories run rampant as to what the title may be, and while the Russos continue to troll us all, we will never actually have the answer until Marvel Studios officially releases the name of the next Avengers movie. Until then, let the speculation continue…

What did you think of the Russo Brothers trolling fans? Did you get a good laugh? Let us know in the comments below!
