Apparently There’s Been A Spike In ‘Joker’ Related Porn Searches

The latest DC-related film to get released is this month’s Joker, which has already been a massive success at the box office. And Joker has not only been smashing financial records, but the film has seen plenty of positive critical and fan reception as well. It goes to show that sometimes it pays off for a studio to take risks, especially controversial ones like Joker was up until its release. Although it does turn out that the hype for the film has influenced people in at least one regard – their porn search history. That’s right, there’s apparently been an increase in Joker-related porn searches.

According to Pornhub, the website has revealed new statistics following the release of Joker – and they’re quite shocking. It seems that the number of searches involving the keyword “Joker” have gone up to 741,000 searches in a matter of four days. The searches had their largest peak on October 6, just two days after the film was released, when the searches had hit 291,000. Of course, people might just have a thing for clowns. The Joker’s counterpart, miss Harley Quinn, earned a staggeringly large number of searches herself. The character was searched for on Pornhub 10 million times in the year 2018. It’s no doubt these characters have made their impact on people.

In the new film…

“Failed comedian Arthur Fleck encounters violent thugs while wandering the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow dissent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.“

It’s interesting to see how a dark and serious film like Joker can inspire people to sought out Joker-related porn searches, but nevertheless here we are. At least it can be considered a potentially positive inspiration film of sorts in that regard?

The new Joker movie directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix is currently now available to watch in theaters.
