One of the best parts about being a horror fan are the in depth conversations that stem from watching so many of the films. As you likely already know, the horror genre is chock full of both iconic films and characters – many of which have caused a variety of debates among fans. Now there’s debates have helped create a new type of meme that’s been spreading around the internet, where horror fans are asked to keep 3 out of 9 icons that have been provided in a single grid image.
As you can see below, the image went especially viral after Fangoria tweeted their “keep 3” out of 9 horror icons post. The image includes the titular Carrie from the original Carrie film adaptation, Michael Myers from Halloween, Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a possessed Regan from The Exorcist, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, Chucky from Child’s Play, Ghostface from Scream, and lastly Samara from The Ring.

Clearly, however, with the wide variety of icons provided the image doesn’t exactly promote equal answers from fans. Many have chosen different options that don’t quite align and have prompted, again, many debates across the horror community.
