‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Rumored To Feature Huge MCU Cameo

Rumors are a mainstay in the film industry. As movie productions do their best to keep their plots and their secrets intact, the internet has made that objective harder than ever. This goes doubling so for comic book movies, Marvel especially. Now that Hollywood is getting back to some semblance of normal, scoopers are trying to get as much insight as possible as to what is to come for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its future. Case in point: the latest rumor for Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth solo film for the God of Thunder, may just have a pretty big cameo that will tie into a future MCU movie.

Of course, as with all rumors, take this with a huge grain of salt. This particular leak comes from the website, Crazy Days and Nights. It points to a secret cameo that will possibly lead to another film down the line:

“This actress is an Oscar winner/nominee and a superhero. While pictures from a set have included some of the stars of the movie, our actress has been filming in complete secret to make it a surprise for viewers.”

At first glance, this could point to Natalie Portman’s return. As she has been seen on set with the other actors, however, it doesn’t fit the parameters of this cryptic message. That is where context clues come in. This post is tagged with not only “Thor”, but also “Brie Larson”. So, doing the math, it would seem that they are implying that Captain Marvel will make an appearance in this movie.

This does make sense, as her sequel film will come after this one. And, as this story will have cosmic elements (after all, Thor will be returning from his time with the Guardians of the Galaxy), her character does seem like a good fit. Plus, Gorr the God Butcher, the villain of the movie who is being played by Christian Bale, is a huge threat. One that Thor will definitely need help to conquer.

Again, this is just a rumor for now, so just let it simmer in the back of your mind until we get some concrete evidence or an official word. If true, the addition of another powerful female character to this already stacked cast of kick ass women will only help women around the world feel represented and appreciated.
