Marvel Studios Releases First Trailer For ‘Shang-Chi’ Movie

There are so many amazing stories coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that have fans hyped to no end. Marvel is currently killing it on Disney Plus with series like WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as well as the upcoming series like Loki and Ms. Marvel. After waiting for over a year, people are chomping at the bit for films like Black Widow and Eternals. But there is another film due out this year that still tends to fly under the radar. I’m talking about the first ever Asian led Marvel film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Marvel’s greatest martial artist is set to debut this summer in the MCU and we now have our first trailer!

As you can see from the trailer below, Shang-Chi will fit alongside the rest of the heroes once he premieres for the fans. Now, one would be remiss to not acknowledge that there is a similarity between Shang-Chi’s uniform and Scarlet Witch’s new costume. This is most likely just a coincidence, but certainly fan theories will grow from this commonality. The color and the cross weave over the chest is hard to not notice. Regardless, the movie looks incredible and looks to make a major impact on the MCU and its future.

There is also something interesting in the brief character description in the film’s first synoppsis. It talks about Shang-Chi being trained all his life by the Ten Rings organization but doing his best to get away from them. But now he is brought back into their web, a web led by his father. Is his father the true Mandarin, who is finally coming to the MCU? This would be a twist on the character, but one that will even more engrain Shang-Chi into the MCU lore. Whatever is to come, this trailer should have everyone even more excited for this movie!

Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng.

“Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers. David Callaham & Destin Daniel Cretton & Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in theaters on September 3, 2021.
