Marvel Removes Chris Evans Captain America Banners To Highlight Anthony Mackie

After the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe knew that Chris Evans would no longer be Captain America. He gave the shield to Sam Wilson AKA Falcon because he felt that he was the correct one to carry on his legacy. Fast forward to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and after some hard times, Anthony Mackie’s character eventually accepts the mantle and becomes Captain America. So, it should come as no surprise that Marvel has decided to replace the Captain America social media accounts with Mackie’s version of the character.

As you can see in the image below, the new profile says “on your left” – which fans will know is a reference to the famous line featured in Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Sam Wilson keeps getting beat by Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.

We were also given an official poster:

The changes were also made on the Captain America Facebook page – and fans definitely noticed the change.

Evans’ legacy will never change and he will be the Captain for me but Mackie is pretty good too so in order to honor both they could have put both their faces their so that everyone is happy

The move isn’t exactly a surprise, but as you an see, is probably bittersweet for fans who still miss the Chris Evans version of the character.

It was announced that Captain America 4 is on the way and it should definitely be interesting to see where Marvel decides to take the character in the future. For now, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is currently streaming on Disney Plus – along with the Chris Evans Cap films as well.
