Fans are excited for Batgirl, which will introduce the titular superhero to the greater DCEU. There are several other reasons to be excited for the film as well, such as Michael Keaton’s involvement as an older Bruce Wayne aka Batman. While we’ve already had a few hints at his character in the film, some new set photos have arrived which show off Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon. We’ve seen glimpses of Leslie Grace in costume as Batgirl, but these glimpses of her as Barbara Gordon are most certainly in character and very true to her look in the comics.
While we don’t know what exactly Barbara Gordon is up to in this scene, it’s clear that Leslie Grace is strolling all around Gotham. Her character is also dressed up rather cozily for the winter setting, and she appears quite different from her Batgirl persona.

It’s truly exciting to see how much progress has been made on the production of Batgirl, and it’s proof that the film will be ready before we know it. With The Batman soon to be arriving in theaters, it’s certainly a great time to be a comic book fan.
The upcoming Batgirl film will be co-directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The film was written by Christina Hodson.
The aforementioned Leslie Grace will star in the film as the titular Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon. J.K. Simmons will reprise his role as Commissioner Gordon from the DCEU. Actor Brendan Fraser has been cast as the supervillain Firefly. Michael Keaton will also play a role in the film, reprising his role as Batman. Jacob Scipio is also in the cast as a currently unconfirmed character.
The upcoming film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2023 on HBO Max.
