While fans have plenty of new Marvel Cinematic Universe films on the way, it might be easy to forget that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is also headed in our direction. The highly-anticipated sequel to the previous two Guardians films is set to hit theaters next year, and soon fans will be able to see fan-favorites like Star-Lord and Rocket the Raccoon back on the big screen. Until then, however, we’ve still been lucky enough to receive small glimpses at the upcoming film. And now Chris Pratt, who plays the aforementioned Star-Lord, might’ve just unveiled a new look at his character.
Chris Pratt recently took a moment to discuss his newly-released project Alaskan Nets on Twitter. While the video wasn’t intended as a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 sneak-peek, it certainly turned out that way. Fans quickly noticed that Chris Pratt was made up for his new Star-Lord look, which includes his wavy hair and now much fuller facial hair.
As you can see below:
It’s certainly a different look than fans will remember from the character’s last appearance, which was in the film Avengers: Endgame. But the character is also set to return in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder, which is set to hit in just a few short months. And based on leaked merchandise images, Chris Pratt’s appearance matches up. It appears he’ll be sporting the full facial hair in that film as well. This seems to indicate that Guardians 3 will take place not long after Thor: Love and Thunder, and all things considered, this should lead into some exciting possibilities for the MCU going forward. Hopefully we’ll get more looks at both films soon.
The cast for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 features Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Will Poulter is joining the cast as Adam Warlock.
The upcoming MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is scheduled for a May 5, 2023 release date.
