While promoting The Man From U.N.C.L.E., which is in theaters this weekend, Henry Cavill appeared on The Tonight Show and talked with Jimmy Fallon about his role as Superman. He said that he’s currently in the “off-season” of his Superman role and said that he’ll have to start getting into heroic shape again because Justice League’s pre-production start is soon: “Justice League, I think we start pre-production on that in January.” Check out the interview here: What do you guys think? The box office numbers are in for Fantastic Four — and they’re not good. The much-anticipated reboot from 20th Century Fox opened to just $26 million domestically over its first weekend, significantly below early projections that had the film earning at least $40 million. While speaking with Uproxx, Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill touched on Warner Bros.’ big plan for their DC Comics franchise. Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any worse for Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot – they have. Fans have started a petition demanding that Fox return the Fantastic Four film rights back to Marvel Studios. Instead of giving Fox a chance to redeem itself with ‘Fantastic Four 2’, the petition says that the franchise should just quit while it’s behind. While it seems unlikely that Fox will sell the rights back to Marvel, it’s certainly not impossible, given all the fan outrage and hatred of the reboot. MMA champion and Hollywood up-and-comer Ronda Rousey has thrown her name into the ring for a major Marvel role — and fans are taking notice. During a Reddit AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) with fans, Rousey was asked what superhero she would most want to portray on the big screen. Even though the past weekend couldn’t have gone any worse for 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, the studio still plans to move forward with a sequel – currently scheduled for June 9, 2017. “Everything I’ve heard would indicate that the studio will move forward with a Fantastic Four sequel,” HitFix reports. “It may not make that original 2017 date, but they’re definitely planning to make it.” It’s a bit surprising, considering the studio is expected to lose $60 million dollars on the film but Fox probably doesn’t want to let the rights revert back to Marvel for…

A box office analyst is projecting a $60 million dollar loss from Fantastic Four for FOX  – according to Variety. Per the report: “Fantastic Four” is struggling to find its footing at the box office this weekend, suggesting that not even superheroes are immune to poor reviews. Early estimates show the 20th Century Fox release struggling to hit $30 million for the weekend, which is well below the anticipated mid-$40 million mark.
