Avengers: Infinity War is drawing closer with every passing day and the hype train for the film seems to only get more intense.
Rumors have been swirling that Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be a reboot – but one filmmaker behind the scenes of Marvel has shot those rumors down.
James Gunn took to Twitter when asked about this very question and his response was pretty straight forward when it comes to the MCU and concerning the Guardians of the Galaxy:
Not true. The Guardians, at least, will continue on. https://t.co/pbFpUKXM8i

We at least know that the actors and actresses of the Guardians of the Galaxy will still be around to play their respectable rolls.
After D23 Expo and the footage of Infinity War that reportedly brought down the house – it’s becoming more clear that some of the members we’ve grown to love in this 22 film arc might be coming to an end.
“This original 22-movie arc ends with the untitled Avengers in May of 2019 and then two months later it will be Peter and Spider-Man (on July 5, 2019) that usher us into the aftermath and how things proceed from there.”
Although people are clamoring for more news on what’s next for the MCU, Fiege himself has admitted publicly that he doesn’t want to think too far ahead has we still got a ton of Marvel movies coming out with Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Infinity War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Captain Marvel, and Avengers 4 (which is still has not been properly titled).
We’ll just have to wait and see with baited breath on what happens next to our heroes.
