There was no shortage of characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Endgame. The massive superhero blockbuster united a wide variety of characters from across the entirety of the MCU, bringing a close to the Infinity Saga. But as fans know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is far from over. And plenty of surprises were left unsolved in Endgame. But now Marvel has revealed one such surprise – the identity of the mysterious NoobMaster69. The character appeared in the movie as a video game troll on Fortnite, and fans have since been wondering who the character really was.
While a wide variety of fan theories have developed over the years, all of which has suggested their own answer regarding NoobMaster69, a true answer was finally given. As you can see below, a new promo for the Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier clears up the air regarding NoobMaster69. And it’s a great little moment for eagle-eyed fans that picked up on the Easter egg.
In the promo, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is talking to an Apple Store employee named Aaron (D.C. Pierson). The employee was already introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where he previously interacted with Steve Rogers and Black Widow. Well, in the new video, he talks long enough with Sam Wilson to begin discussing the latest Xbox console. And, during the discussion, he mentions that his gamertag on Xbox is none other than “NoobMaster69”. It’s a great moment and finally brings some closure to the video game troll that gave Korg such a hard time in Avengers: Endgame.
It really is a nice treat, one that not only brings together more continuity across the Marvel Cinematic Universe – but gets fans hyped for the new Disney Plus series. As for the premise of the new show…
“Six months after being handed the mantle of Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Sam Wilson teams up with Bucky Barnes in a worldwide adventure that tests their abilities and their patience.”
Fans will be able to view The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on the streaming service Disney Plus when it debuts on March 19.
