The plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe are reported to reach 2028. With Iron Man in 2008, that’s twenty years. Terminator, though, has been over thirty years. Marvel’s other cine-verse, over at Fox, has been lasting over fifteen years, and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. James Bond’s been around about half a century. And who can forget Star Wars? But what sets the MCU apart, is that it has perpetually continued from the beginning. Phase 2 wrapped up this year with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. We just saw the Captain America: Civil War trailer. From there, Phase 3 will end with Avengers: Infinity War…

Marvel Studios recently announced three more movies for their Cinematic Universe in 2020. There are plenty to look forward to between now and then. But needless to say, we want more. I can’t be more excited that Spider-Man has finally joined the MCU. Following his debut in Captain America: Civil War, his solo outing will hit 2017. I hope one of those unnamed movies will be a sequel. Or better yet, a Venom spin-off. But after sequel upon sequel, new characters, and then those getting sequels, the second movie in the MCU still only has one installment. The sad truth…

It’s no secret that I didn’t care much for last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With the plethora of comic book movies today, there’s bound to be a few I don’t enjoy. But as a Ninja Turtles fan since before I could even walk, I was let down pretty hard. I didn’t have a teddy bear, I had a stuffed Michelangelo. My first toys I remember were Ninja Turtle action figures. Therefore, I’ve had my own thoughts on the way such a movie should go. But just like Fantastic Four, my hope is out there for the sequel. Redemption for Teenage Mutant Ninja…

Some may say that an appreciation for the previous Fantastic Four franchise is just an excuse. But when I say I thoroughly enjoyed those movies, I don’t mean merely “appreciate,” and I’m not making an excuse. I just can’t get over the Galactus storm cloud. So when 20thCentury Fox announced their reboot of Marvel’s first family, my first hope was for the giant, purple-helmet-wearing, planet-eater. Fox refused to trade Galactus and Silver Sufer for Daredevil back, claiming they had plans for them. Now, with the franchise in peril, it looks like all hope is gone. Reports say Galactus was actually in the…

Many are excited for the slew of new Marvel shows. After the success of Daredevil, and the rumors of Moon Knight, Netflix is heating up Hell’s Kitchen. Currently, ABC has Agents of SHIELD, with Agent Carter filling in the mid-season gaps. Soon, we’ll see Marvel’s Most Wanted, which will feature Mockingbird and her on-and-off again lover, Hunter from SHIELD. I know its just a pipe-dream, but maybe we’ll see her lover from the comics, too: Hawkeye. While they’re filling the TV world with action dramas, Marvel has decided to bleed into sitcoms. Damage Control’s roots in the MCU travel back the first film. In the final scene…

If Rick Jones was introduced in The Incredible Hulk, he could have been an important character in the MCU. Stan Lee wrote the teenager into the lives of many Marvel residents. Rick brought out the three dimensions of the heroes from the four colors. But it seems that he’s nowhere to be found in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Did we miss out on anything from his absence? Origin of The Hulk Before the resurrection of Secret Wars, Marvel thrived into a multi-verse. The original, created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, has been dubbed the “616” Universe. When Mark Millar wrote Ultimate X-Men in…

Mark Pedowitz, president of the CW, the network that houses the ever-growing “Arrowverse,” has stated that after Legends of Tomorrow, there will be no more spin-offs for the foreseeable future. I hope that’s only a future that he can’t foresee. With more and more characters from the comics, four shows can only hold so much. But I suppose the network can only hold so much, with their other popular universes, such as Supernatural and Vampire Diaries. There is a sister station that’s only available as a mobile app, called CW Seed. It houses the animated Vixen, also in the Arrowverse.…

Back when faithful comic book movies were just a pipe dream, a friend and I would talk about our hopes for Avengers and Justice League. Older, wiser, and the share of comics ahead of me already under his belt, he said that either, such movies would have to be several hours long to showcase each character, or solo movies should lead up to the ensemble piece. Some twenty years later, those movies have been made realities. We now see that Avengers took the latter route, and Justice League will be doing the former. But, not only is DC introducing their Justice…

What is an anti-hero? Is it someone who teeters back and forth between hero and villain? Do they just straddle the gray area? Or are they a good guy, who’s just a bad-ass? Well, Marvel has plenty of all of the above. We decided to give what we thought were the top 10: 10. Blade Eric Brooks was born half vampire. Luckily, Blade’s human side allows him to walk the streets in daylight. So, like Ghost Rider, he protects innocents against beings like himself. 9. Ghost Rider In a previous article, I spoke of Wolfsbane, whose foster father believed she…

With the recent rumor that came out suggesting that Marvel was looking to make a Moon Knight Netflix series, we decided to make a list of why it should happen. Here’s what we came up with: 5. There’s Demand For It In this world of rights-owning movie studios, Moon Knight sits with the Disney-owned Marvel Studios. I like to think that they’re one of the studios that listen to their fans. They made a deal with Sony to include Spider-Man in their movies after such clamoring. Civil War by Mark Millar, a very popular title, has been turned into the third…
