Going into this film, I’ll admit. I didn’t have very high expectations. That’s the only way to watch a movie like this, isn’t it? I mean, it’s not like any of the previous ‘Fast’ installments are made to win Oscars. They’re built for a certain audience, and that certain audience really loves them, as they’ve been Box Office monsters ever since their creation. The film begins with Dom Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) getting himself into a sort of predictable situation, but that was sort of expected once the movie starts. I’d also just like to take a moment to…

For years now, fans have been eager to see the Marvel Netflix Universe cross over into the film universe, since it’s allegedly all connected within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movies, however, have not referenced the shows and there doesn’t appear to be a timetable for that to happen. Could Spider-Man: Homecoming be the film to do it? Well, according to a recent interview with the movie’s producer Eric Carroll, it won’t be: “[He’s] not specifically referenced in this movie, no. I think that’s something we all think would be really fun, and it’s definitely a card I would love…
Yesterday, one of the more bigger castings of the year was confirmed when Josh Brolin joined Deadpool 2 as Cable. The decision was very surprising, as Brolin is currently playing Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Unvierse, as Deadpool is owned by 20th Century Fox. This would seem to point out that maybe his Thanos deal is only a two picture deal or that Disney/Marvel are cool with it. Either way, it was a pretty big surprise. Per the report: “Josh Brolin has nabbed the hotly contested role of Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.…
Vin Diesel has played Dom Toretto for so long, that it’s pretty impossible to imagine anyone else playing the Fast and the Furious character. Though, according to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Producer Neil H. Mortiz revealed that another unlikely actor almost played the role: “I had been working with Paul Walker on another movie, Skulls, and I gave him the script [for The Fast and the Furious]. Rob Cohen, who I had made The Rat Pack with, we gave him the script. The two of them liked the idea. And then we had to look for Dom Toretto. The…
According to a new exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin will play Cable in Deadpool 2. Per the report: “Josh Brolin has nabbed the hotly contested role of Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The production has been on the warpath to find the right actor for the role for months, with Michael Shannon almost nabbing the role and Stranger Things star David Harbour on the shortlist. (There were even rumors of conversations with Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt.) In the end, Brolin emerged as a surprise contender, notching his second Marvel…
This past weekend, a recent rumor hit the internet stating that WB was currently planning on releasing 4 Batman related films in 2019. Per the rumor: “The plan for 2019 is to release four Batman related films. Gotham City Sirens around Valentine’s Day weekend, Nightwing on Memorial Day weekend, Batgirl in August and The Batman in November. The studio is doing this to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Batman. In addition, two Batman animated films are also planned for 2019. One will be an adaptation of The Long Halloween.” Well, Geoff Johns was asked about the rumor on Twitter, and gave…
Earlier in the week, we reported on the following Reddit post about Black Adam being the main villain in Man of Steel 2 and the Shazam film being cancelled. Per the Reddit post: “No. I will not tell you how I know any of this in order to not jeopardize my position. Firstly, Black Adam will be the main villain in Man of Steel 2. The idea was tossed around of possibly making an appearance in the sequel, even if it was only brief. This later evolved into Adam becoming the villain due to the fact WB did not feel…
When a few pictures were released for Thor: Ragnarok a couple months back, one thing was noticeably missing. Karl Urban as Skurge The Executioner. All we had seen before the trailer was released today was Karl Urban posting this on Twitter: https://twitter.com/KarlUrban/status/757539282152062976 Well, now, thanks to the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer, we’re given a very BRIEF glimpse at the actor as the Marvel character that I managed to take a screenshot of: Compared to the comic look, for the most part, it seems pretty accurate. Here’s hoping that the actor’s performance in the film can get people talking about something else…
After months of waiting, the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is here – and it looks great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F1epIzP7KI All of the casting appears to be on point and we’re even treated to our first good look at Karl Urban as The Executioner – as well as the first look at Planet Hulk. Overall, it looks like a lot of fun. James Gunn even commented on the trailer last month: https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/845821921887322112 The film will feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder himself, with Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Idris Elba as Heimdall and…
It was reported back in February that Mel Gibson was the favorite to direct the upcoming sequel to Suicide Squad. According to a recent 4chan leak, however, that isn’t the case. Per the leak: “Mel Gibson is no longer the front runner to direct the Suicide Squad sequel. Jaume Collet-Serra and Ruben Fleischer are now the top candidates. The script is currently being written with a story pitch given by Ayer. Killer Frost will be the new female lead to replace Harley Quinn.” Obviously just a rumor but we haven’t really heard much about it since the initial report. Many…
