It’s no secret that many fans were disappointed with the appearance of the titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse. While his purple visage was vastly improved in post-production, it was still noticeably different from the look we grew accustomed to seeing in the comics and the classic animated series. The internet was awash in Ivan Ooze memes, and even comparisons to cosplayers who had managed to do it better. As a massive fan of the character, I reminded myself that we were lucky to get him on the big screen in the first place. I told myself that being super accurate…

Sadly, many great movies, shows, and even games have been turned into pathetic porno parodies, because reasons. So it was only inevitable that the good folks over at Brazzers would get their dirty-minded paws on the formerly innocent pastime of Pokemon Go. The plot, if you can call it that, features missing porn stars, and one nympho on a quest to catch them all. One can safely assume that copious amounts of sex will be had, probably in places even more uncomfortable than the back of a Volkswagen. As someone who works in a video store that has an…

I know what you’re thinking. That’s a sketchy headline, probably to a clickbait non-story. How many similarities could these two movies really have? I mean, in one, you have a billionaire with a superhero alter ego, who keeps all his cool secret tech in the basement of his awesome glass house, and ultimately has to use said tech to fight the crazy guy who has become obsessed with him. Then there’s our hero being caught between government oversight and public scrutiny, while still trying to do what’s best for the people, who don’t exactly trust him like they used to.…

If you were hoping to see the lackluster Suicide Squad redeemed Dawn of Justice style, with a fleshed-out Ultimate Cut, don’t hold your breath. In the case of BvS, director Zack Snyder had more than 30 minutes of scenes deleted by Warner Brothers suits just begging to be added back to the film. It resulted in a more cohesive story, with improved character development. However, in Suicide Squad’s case, it looks like the theatrical version *is* the director’s cut. David Ayer insists (despite rumors to the contrary) that WB brass made no changes to his finished film. But there are…

DCU fan Abdullah Saleh had no idea what he was getting himself into. Frustrated with the unexpectedly negative reviews for this weekend’s Suicide Squad, which led to a dismal rating on the popular film review site Rotten Tomatoes, he created a petition on Change.org calling on the powers that be to shut the page down. He felt it was unfairly biased against DC movies, having given Man of Steel a rating of 55%, Batman v Superman 27%, and Suicide Squad 31% – all numbers that add up to “Rotten” ratings. By contrast, every single film in the MCU is…

Leonardo DiCaprio decided to play a prank on his friend and former costar, Jonah Hill. Seeing Hill standing idly by a New York restaurant on Monday, Leo got out his phone, and ran screaming right into his buddy’s face, fangirling and begging for a picture. Jared Leto has developed quite a reputation during the filming of Suicide Squad, out this weekend, for playing tricks on his costars. They ranged from harmless pranks, like like sending Margot Robbie a live rat (which she kept briefly as a pet, before it was adopted by Guillermo del Toro), to disturbing stunts like gifting several members of the cast with used anal beads. Ick. Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon didn’t get off any easier. Appearing on Monday night’s show, Leto presented Fallon with a small box, complete with a nice bow on top: You know the Joker is a…

An entire scene from Spider-Man: Homecoming was shown at the Marvel panel at SDCC, revealing the identity of one of Peter Parker’s classmates. We see a bit of Parker going through his day as an average high school student (superhero status notwithstanding), sitting in class, going to lunch, and dealing with typical teenager problems. During one class, a teacher asks a question, then proceeds to call on none other than Flash Thompson for the answer. Flash, who will be played by Tony Revolori, is your traditional high school dickhead, a bully who delights in picking on scrawny kids like Peter.…
