A clip of video from the set of Star Wars: Episode 8 has been released, giving us a bit of insight into where the story picks up. Judging by the location and costumes, it appears that it will begin exactly where Episode 7 ended, with Rey finding the reclusive Luke Skywalker on a lonely mountaintop on the planet Ahch-To. The last known Jedi is seen meditating on the rocky crag, his brown robes flowing in the breeze. According to makingstarwars.net, concept art indicates that, in Luke’s meditation trance, he sees the setting of twin suns – most likely, he is…

The final scene in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice showed us that Superman will indeed return. And now, we have reason to believe he’s going to look very different from the clean-cut boy scout we’re used to. Just last week, reporters fishing for hints on the Justice League set asked Zack Snyder if Clark Kent’s hair was going to change for the film. “It should be perfect,” he told them. “Longer, I guess. That’s what the myths are anyway.” For DC comics aficionados, this will come as no surprise. After the “Death of Superman” story arc, The next one…

Of all of Marvel’s hugely successful film and television properties, few have been more well received that Netflix’s Daredevil series. Season one was embraced by fans of blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his superhero alter ego, the savior of Hell’s Kitchen. Then season two took it to a whole different level with the inclusion of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. The show’s gritty realism and great performances have been universally praised. So with season three being such a highly anticipated property, you would think the suits in charge would be scrambling to start production. However, a third season hasn’t even…

With his appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther became the breakout star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Everyone’s talking about how perfectly he was characterized, and what a fantastic job Chadwick Boseman did in bringing the regal Wakandan prince to life. And his costume, a bulletproof, vibranium-infused fabric, garnered a lot of attention as well. And now, we know that the armor almost looked much different. Costume designer Jerad S. Merantz has posted pictures of the concept art on his personal blog, and it shows a more primal, muscle-defining design. He almost looks more like a real panther…

Another day, another wrestler trying to get into comic book films. Last week it was Adam “Edge” Copeland, adding his name to the (long) list of actors interested in playing Cable in Deadpool’s upcoming sequel. At this point, I think everyone on planet Earth has seen Oscar Isaac’s portrayal of affable fighter pilot Poe Dameron, resistance hero, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He’s an instantly likable character, but not (yet, anyway) one who immediately makes you think he’s being played by an extraordinary actor. But appearances can be deceiving. When I volunteered to write this article, SW:TFA was the only movie I’d ever seen him in. I imagine the same is true for many of you. Little did I know what an astounding talent I was about to discover. If there are any…

Think it would be really interesting. #Marvel” to which Copeland responded: Yeah I could behind that https://t.co/AFsGw8ce6d — Adam (Edge) Copeland (@EdgeRatedR) May 27, 2016 Now, before you let fly with the common (but often incorrect) assumption that wrestlers…

The DC film universe has been heavily criticized for making its stories and characters too dark. Filmgoers seem to want their drama balanced with lighthearted comedy. Complex villains and intense battle scenes are welcome, but there better be some witty discourse along the way. Producer Hiram Garcia promises that Shazam will do its part to facilitate that outcome. Part of the slate of films DC has on the way, including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Justice League, and this summer’s Suicide Squad, Shazam’s only announced star so far is Dwayne Johnson, who will portray Shazam’s nemesis Black Adam. Garcia had…
