The talk of the internet is Avengers: Infinity War, but with it set to release next month and Avengers 4 being part of the back-to-back shoot, what happens next? There are many characters set to appear in the upcoming Marvel event of the year and with some being lead to their untimely death and possibly not resurfacing according Kevin Feige, what will fans do next?
Well at least we know that Thor will be continuing to have projects after Infinity War, with Joe and Anthony Russo expressing joy for Thor in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to ComicBook and their conversation with the Russo brothers, Thor: Ragnarok directed by Taika Waititi, apparently inspired the Russo brothers and they are enjoying the new take on the character. Per Joe Russo:
“I think he’s a pretty fascinating character, and I think he’s going to jump to the forefront of people’s mind, as a pivotal Marvel character, after Ragnarok and this.”
With Chris Hemsworth uncertain of his future in the role, and fans unsure about Thor’s existence after Infinity War, it would seem that everyone but Russo has reservations about it. Russo is staying determined that there is in fact life after this and Thor will still be a key member of the MCU.
With that being said, where could they possibly go with Thor? Asgard has been destroyed but even though the Asgardians have survived because of their king, what story could possibly come out of that? Are we looking into the future with a rebuilt home realm, are they going to claim another world as their own or possibly he leaves that world and it has completely different story? This could also point to Loki’s demise, as well – based on the recent trailer.
Nonetheless, with all these in question, the actor in question, the fans questioning what may and may not happen, and Infinity War not even in theaters yet, The Russo brothers hold their excitement to continue with Thor and his journey.
Are you excited to see Thor continue? What would you expect from the Russo brothers and this character? Be sure to tell us what you think in the comments!
