Jeremy Renner Teases Hawkeye Return For ‘Avengers 4’

At one point it seemed as though if you had so much as sneezed in a Marvel movie, you were going to be in Avengers: Infinity War. Which is what made it all the more surprising when the end credits rolled around and Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye was nowhere to be seen. Thankfully we already knew that he will be appearing in next year’s Avengers 4, but if we didn’t, Renner’s recent Instagram post teasing the film’s reshoots would have certainly clued us in.

Taking to Instagram, the Tag star seemed wholly enthusiastic to be donning his costume again for the reshoots as well as being reacquainted with his Avengers costars posting the caption ‘Got this feelin I need to SUIT up soon‘. You can check out the post below:

It was revealed in Avengers: Infinity War that both Barton and Scott Lang elected to make a deal with the government rather than end up as fugitives like Captain America and his cohorts. Whilst Ant-Man’s time under house arrest was detailed in Ant-Man and the Wasp (Not that I would know, seeing as it’s not out here for another DAMN WEEK OVER HERE!), we can only assume that Clint spent his time chopping wood and remodeling his farmhouse with Velma from Scooby-Doo.

It’s believed that when we do see Hawkeye in Avengers 4, he will actually be using his Ronin alias, something he used briefly in the comics after his death and subsequent return in the Avengers Disassembled arc. It’s unknown just what type of role he will play in the highly anticipated sequel, but the film’s writers, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, explained that the characters who were underutilized in the last film will have expanded roles in the fourth film.

Hawkeye’s omission from the film and it’s marketing led to an uproar from fans, which led to campaigns, posters only featuring the Avenging Archer and the Marvel Studios Reddit page being rededicated in the characters honour. All in all it showed that the character who is often seen as the butt of many jokes actually had a great deal of support. Let’s just hope the characters return in Avengers 4 is worthy of this adoration. I guess we will find out next May.

What do you think? Did you miss Hawkeye in Infinity War? What do you think he will be up to in Avengers 4? Let us know below.
