Bohemian Rhapsody is finally on track for production. Rami Malek, who played in Mr. Robot, stars in the film as Freddie Mercury. Sacha Baron Cohen would have been perfect, however, he and the band members couldn’t make creative decisions together. Therefore, the story never really got off the ground. Entertainment Weekly posted a first look at Malek portraying the icon on Twitter. He really looks the part, and that’s very exciting. Rumors have surfaced that Sony has shown some interest in Nightwatch. It will be a solo movie in the world of Spider-Man, but missing the key character. A writer with the studio has already stepped up to the task and would like Spike Lee to direct. Sony has decided to move forward with creating a film in that universe using only the supporting characters of Spider-Man. These characters are ones Sony owns the rights to. Sony Pictures will distribute The Crow Reborn worldwide, which helps the film finally get some forward motion. The Crow released in 1994 and with so much time having passed, The Crow Reborn will be a reboot. The original film garnered a huge fan base, but there are a lot of people wanting an adaptation that aligns with James O’Barr’s graphic novel. Warner Bros. has teamed up with David Siegel and Scott McGehee to create a story based off the novel Lord of the Flies, reports Deadline, but with a twist. The characters will be female, not male as they were in the book. McGehee and Siegel will stick closely to the original story, which depicts stranded grade school children on an island and how they create social ranks in some really shocking ways.
