Kaiju fans, rejoice! Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures have come together to announce that 2014’s smash hit “Godzilla” was the first installment in a new shared universe of iconic giant monster films. Other monsters likely to make an appearance include many of Gojira’s old Toho adversaries, such as Mothra, King Ghidora, and Rodan. The films will be tied together by the common thread of the Monarch organization, who unwittingly awoke the MUTOs, causing Godzilla to emerge from the sea in his best cinematic outing to date. Some comic fans think that one major flaw in Marvel’s cinematic universe is a distinct lack of darkness – there’s not much in the way of realistic violence, bad language, or sexual situations. That’s all about to change. A pilot for “Jessica Jones” was shown yesterday at New York ComicCon. As you all may know, Seth Green, (Robot Chicken) voiced the anthropomorphic avian in a post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy. The scene generated so much buzz for the character, he was given his own new comic series earlier this year and Green commented on whether or not he thought Marvel had any plans for the character: Many who are reading that series now may be too young to remember how utterly terrible Howard’s first cinematic outing was in 1986.
