Prometheus featured Face Hugger-esque monsters and eventually had the appearance of what looked like a prototype Xenomorph in its final moments, but overall, the 2012 prequel movie did not have too much in common with the lore of the other Alien movies. But now it looks like Alien: Covenant, and presumably the two other movies that are all supposed to be shot back-to-back, will be featuring much more from the other Alien movies. Ridley Scott himself said that Alien: Covenant would have the “egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.” The big boy presumably means the Xenomorph itself, which is…

Marvel Comics has had many LGBT X-Men over the years, from Northstar to Mystique to the recently-outed Iceman; the X-Men have been extensively tied to minority groups such as LGBT people (such as the “Mutant Cure” arc that Joss Whedon wrote for Astonishing X-Men that was adapted into X-Men 3), and director Bryan Singer even made his X-Men films with a gay allegory mindset. So because the X-Men are so tied to LGBT, does this mean we are going to see a gay X-Man in the future of the movie series? We very well may, at least if original Iceman…

George Lucas is no longer a part of Lucasfilm, and is not involved with The Force Awakens beyond a story credit, so his first time seeing The Force Awakens was apparently much like any moviegoer’s experience; mystery and excitement. The only difference is that he created the universe that the movie inhabits. According to Kathleen Kennedy, he ended up liking the movie – and George himself said the following when asked about it: “I think the fans are going to love it. It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for.” Some might consider this remark “damning with faint…

Avengers 3 seems extremely far away, but the first part is actually only about two-and-a-half years away, which means that it’s finally time for the rumor mills and speculation to start a frenzy from now until 2018. In an interview with Civil War (and Avengers 3) co-director Anthony Russo, we learned more details about Spider-Man’s Civil War costume, but we also learned more about which characters will be appearing in Avengers 3. When questioned about characters from the TV shows appearing in the movies, he said the following: “The films are controlled by a group led by Kevin Feige, so they…

Practically everyone’s seen the trailer for Captain America: Civil War. It packed so much content into its short time span that it’s hard to take your eyes off it and stop soaking in all the action and characters. While many people are currently obsessing over the hype for Spider-Man’s eventual appearance in the movie, and others are basking in the awesome fight at the end of the trailer, the gigantic cast of the movie has probably made one very important point of the trailer be a little downplayed. That point is, of course, that we finally got to see the…

It looks like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t make quite the splash with its latest trailer that DC was hoping for. While it still racked up nearly 25 million views in its first day, it had noticeably fewer views than did the previous two trailers, which each got 30 million views in their first days. This isn’t THAT big a difference, but it certainly is a bit of a drop. Is the excitement for the movie less than it was back during Comic-con, when the previous trailer debuted? No, is the answer, most likely. There are probably several…

Family Guy has been running for an extremely long time now; it survived a cancellation, got several movies and TV specials (including ones for Star Wars), and had two spinoff shows, one of which is still airing today. But after all of this, is it finally going to get a movie, in the vein of the South Park or Simpsons movies? Seth MacFarlane has been very high-profile lately for all of the big movies he’s been putting out; since 2012, he’s had three movies – Ted, Ted 2, and A Million Ways to Die in the West. While the latter…

It looks like Alien: Covenant is the first of three origin stories as director Ridley Scott said that he’s been inspired by Star Wars – according to a new interview with the director from The Hollywood Reporter: “Prometheus 1 was borne out of my frustration that on Alien 1 in 1979 – I only did one as I don’t normally do sequels. I was amazed that in the 3 that followed  that no-one asked the question “why the Alien, who made it and why?” Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus 1, which starts to…
