Michelle Williams will portray Anne Weying in the upcoming Venom movie. Ruben Fleisher is directing the film, which stars Tom Hardy in the titular role. It will be based off the comic, Lethal Protector, which released in the 90’s. Spider-Man: Homecoming rebooted the Spider-Man franchise minus a lot of the supporting members that were iconic in Spider-Man’s previous films. There is evidence that supports a rumor going around that Gwen Stacy will debut in the sequel as audition videos come forward showing possible actresses trying for the role. Tom Hardy reportedly confirmed rumors at the Sao Paulo Comic Con Experience that the upcoming Venom movie will follow after the Lethal Protector comic book miniseries. Warner Bros. is changing their strategy for future DC Films after the Justice League disappointed in revenue and critical review. Jon Berg, DCEU co-runner, will leave his post and produce for Warner Bros., reports Variety. Geoff Johns will continue to be DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer, though his role going forward “may evolve, and could be more advisory in nature.” The report says Johns still reports to DC president Diane Nelson.
