Pacific Rim’s long-awaited sequel, now officially titled Pacific Rim: Uprising, has finally been picked up and starting to film in Austrailia earlier this week. Steven DeKnight, best known for producing the Daredevil Netflix series as well as Smallville, will be set for first time directing and will also be one of the writers. Previous director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) will not be returning due to scheduling conflicts (We’re all hopelessly praying for Hellboy 3), but will still actively work as a producer. Australia soon took notice of the film, as a Sydney resident going by tessaluccy on Instagram took…

The recent passing of actress Carrie Fisher was a devastating blow to many as the final curtain for 2016, being both one of the many beloved Star Wars icons that passed away (Kenny Baker, Erik Bauersfeld and even Michael Leader as the head-bumped Stormtrooper from A New Hope being a few of them) as well as an influential figure of Hollywood. With even the overwhelming passing of her mother Debbie Reynolds shortly after, this tragedy is still taking a lot to sink in for many fans, friends and family alike. A huge part of Star Wars and film history has indeed been…

With a 7 year hiatus that was totally worth it, Deadpool’s simple “love story” (Wham) and marketing campaign went beyond the realm of comic fans and moviegoers alike, demolishing the box office and even nominated for some very notable nominations for the Oscars of 2017. While set-backs with Tim Miller and Junkie XL leaving production for a sequel, Fox and actor Ryan Reynolds wasted no time at this once discarded film idea and have successfully found John Wick director David Leitch to be the man for the job. Deadpool 2 is a certainty (with Fox planning a trilogy already, it’s no doubt)…

Two species at war: one flesh, one metal. The trailer for the fifth Transformers film has finally been released, offering more questions to what exactly the plot will offer in this secret-heavy installment. Dark Ages with what appears to be a flying Predacon, The Third Reich and their Swastikas, military war, exaggerated explosions, a crippled Optimus Prime floating around space, and what appears to be hints of an otherworldly planetary force in space (fingers crossed for Unicron), all with Anthony Hopkins himself providing the narration. Certainly not giving the impression of a Transformers film until we actually see the robots punching…

It seems the dark world of DC’s Cinematic Universe may be getting a man of lighter comedy involved, as Monty Python star John Cleese may be making an appearance in the world of flying gods and bat-dressed vigilantes. Last week, it was shown that Batman v Superman set photographer Clay Enos began following the iconic comedian on his official Twitter page. While it may appear to be a stretch, it wasn’t until about a week later that Cleese ended up following Ben Affleck and Zack Snyder himself. The screenshot was provided by Batman News fan Dennis Lamb through his Twitter…

Suicide Squad’s tone set itself apart from the rest of the DCEU for its more zaney and less “dark” atmosphere (it was clearly obvious of the route of the trailers since the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice reception). Interviews and stories of the cast and crew spoke about the huge interaction the actors had being fun (and in Leto’s case, downright insane) that really added to the chemistry. For those hoping to add a bit more to their Suicide Squad needs, a blooper reel has just recently been revealed to just show how the chemistry was with the people…

In addition to Masamune Shirow’s story of philosophy, sociological issues, technological advances and human nature in the bidding struggle of conscious identity, the original Ghost in the Shell was also distinguished by the manga and anime’s unique visuals (several artbooks have been published to prove the popular study of it, in fact). It is clearly an aspect that Paramount Pictures is vitalizing with it intriguing display in the new trailer on the live-action adaptation. The vivid atmosphere holds much to appreciate with the detail that went into costumes, props, effects, and environment of the cyberpunk world of Major Motoko Kusanagi.…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has already made enough splits of opinions of its general audience. Fans of the comics, professional film critics, even some of the bigger names of comic book films and movies making their own criticisms or defenses over the film. Either way, as much good moments as it had, there were quite some bad ones to endure in the mixed bag. One of the most controversial brilliant/confound arguments regards the infamous “Martha” scene. While it’s anyone’s surprise why this connection wasn’t made before over the span of the comics, and that it served as an…

Erza Miller is pretty committed to his side of the playing team, as shown in a recent video interaction with a “fan”. The Flash actor of the upcoming Justice League movie was out in public signing autographs on the red carpet to the UK premire of his latest film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He was then offered a comic to sign in the form of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to which he flat out refused to put his signature on. He responded back to the individual: “You understand why I can’t sign that, right? Find me something else,…
