Marvel’s very own Stan Lee will be stepping into another big screen project, but this hero of many isn’t going to mantle the Cameo Man get-up for this one. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the rights to make an action film starring Mr. Lee based on his life, but this will be no biopic. The only information surfaced is it’s an action-adventure film set in the 70s, and with a tone similar to Kingsman: The Secret Service. Producers include Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, the team behind the new Power Rangers reboot (as well as…

BossLogic has done it again with a visual of another interesting casting rumor, this time of it being the fallen Robin and vigilante Red Hood himself, Jason Todd. The infamous death of the second Robin is no stranger to the avid comic reader and the DC Cinematic Universe clearly emphasizes the event in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and a small Easter egg in the Harley Quinn case file in Suicide Squad (her being associated as an accomplice, in fact). There is no doubt we will see something of an actual appearance of Jason himself, and though a…

Say what you will about Zack Snyder taking the helm with the first two DC Cinematic Universe films, the man can sure make foreshadowing very powerful. A friend of ours pointed out this very interesting parallel in regards to Snyder’s two films, Man of Steel and it sequel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice: The image above shows the ironic connection between the two films.  Kal-El’s nightmare vision from Zod in Man of Steel midway through the film shows him sinking into the skulls of the people he swore to protect. Once Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice comes into play, we see…

Posts and discussions are all the buzz about the masked assassin extraordinaire Deathstroke being revealed to be played by Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Spider-man) , but irony has it, did you know Manganiello almost was part of an earlier role in the DC Cinematic Universe? Back when promoting his latest film at the time Sucker Punch, director Zack Snyder spoke about his casting choice for Henry Cavill as Superman being announced and that his second choice was, in fact, Manganiello himself. MTV has the 2011 interview posted in the source below. What was it that made Cavill more suitable to…

Still concerned if the solo Batman film can be handled well on Batfleck’s shoulders? Warner Bros. may just show even outside of comic book material, Ben Affleck may still have it in him. Oscar winner and currently the new Batman, Affleck returns to the directing and writing chair along with starring in his latest film, Live by Night. Based on the best-seller novel by Dennis Lehane, the story centers on the 1920s with bootleg alcohol still rampant around the time of gangsters. It will be produced by Leonardo CiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson and will also star Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Chris…

Canada’s 2016 Fan Expo marked many events: the last Canadian appearance of the duo Adam West and Burt Ward, the last convention of comic legend Stan Lee, and surprisingly, a very rare panel appearance of reuniting Batman: The Animated Series stars Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. Many fans (including yours truly) waited upon hours for the experience to witness two iconic childhood legends sit next to each other, talking about their history together, behind the scenes on the different collaborations, and the exchange of many jokes (even a The Killing Joke talk, to be fair). One of the final questions asked was whether…

The Punisher starring Thomas Jane is by no means a perfect film. It’s got a lot of sidetracking and mixed tones, some mucky scripting included, but it was a film that tried to be something more than just the typical comic book film. I have a real soft spot for the kind of soul they put into Frank Castle’s portrayal, which I felt made his film incarnation something more progressive than most of the comics could have made at the time, and it was really one of the first introductions I ever got to the character properly. Thomas Jane truly…

With Suicide Squad and Justice League being the two biggest DC titles circling the silver screen and superhero movie news, it seems the comics have decided to make their own contribution to the two teams, with a cutthroat face-off being the words on the ink. The Wall Street Journal has revealed details that DC Comics are creating their six-issue weekly miniseries entitled “Justice League vs. Suicide Squad”, crossing over the two assembled lineups of good and just against bad and ugly (inside and maybe out, some can be beautiful). It will center around Batman shutting down the Suicide Squad, it being…

Comic books and Hollywood are usually a big button for insta-cash in the entertainment business. Creative differences can sometimes take effect, while others are more faithful adaptations, but as long as a product is made for the people and they love it – it’s good for both sides. Sometimes, however, a serious blunder of typical film producer money grab schemes becomes a bit too obvious of the business than an actual art of the product. There are too many safety routes, people to please, and with this day and age, a huge concern to have connected universes of every character…
