The launch of Disney’s new streaming service Disney Plus had plenty of reasons for Marvel fans to purchase subscriptions. Aside from the fact they actually added the film Avengers: Endgame upon release, they added a variety of special bonuses as well. One such bonus was a deleted scene from the film, which showed Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in the afterlife. One of the biggest Hollywood movies that surprisingly never received any sort of sequel was Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Although the movie still hasn’t gotten a sequel (and probably never will, at least in the feature length sense), there is a new short film that acts as a brand new continuation. We’re incredibly close to the release of Blumhouse’s upcoming horror film Black Christmas, which is the second remake of Bob Clark’s 1974 slasher film of the same name. While the original Black Christmas has remained something of a classic over the decades, director Sophia Takal decided to only loosely base her Black Christmas remake on the original. The latest sequel in the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate, once again attempted to reboot all past installments released after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It’s a sad time for fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000, which Netflix had recently revived for a 14 episode eleventh season in 2017 and another six episode twelfth season in 2019. It appears that streaming service Netflix will not be reviving the series for a third season, and that Mystery Science Theater 3000 has been canceled. While it’s not quite as popular as other similarly themed horror franchises, the Wrong Turn series of films have remained consistently popular with their following of fans over the years. As such, a reboot of the property has been in development for awhile now. Although they haven’t had the best history with attempting to reboot the Universal Monsters franchises, Universal has continued to produce new films based on their classic characters of monsters and madmen.
