The great thing about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that, with only limited characters, Marvel Studios was still able to embark on their massive cineverse. They didn’t own the rights to heavy hitters, Spider-Man and X-Men. They didn’t own any rights to the big Marvel movies that were released in the prior decade: Blade, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider. They did have a Hulk, though. Or, at least access to him. And though Iron Man and Incredible Hulk were produced by two different movie studios, they were able to cross-thread them to birth this MCU. A new report from CosmicBookNews…

Doctor Strange will obviously make his first appearance in his solo flick later this year. Although, he was name dropped in Captain America: Winter Soldier. We are approaching a new and important indifference that will affect most our lives. No, I’m not talking about the presidential election. I’m talking about a Civil War amongst our favorite superheroes. Captain America: Civil War is the Marvel Cinematic Universe adaptation of the comic book arc written by literary superstar, Mark Millar. In the book, citizens of Marvel Earth were split between the opinions of Captain America and Iron Man. That opinion being their stance on the Superhero Registration Act. The Act was initiated after, what was called the Stamford Incident, in which C-List team — turned Reality Show…

Who will be the villain for the next Batman movie? Ever since Tim Burton’s stab in 1989, moviegoers have been asking this question. Jack Nicholson set the bar as The Joker. Since then, comic book movie villains have been measured against his greatness. Which came as a surprise when Heath Ledger blew him out of the water. But since that 1989 film, many Batman movies, henceforth many Bat-villians have graced the silver screen. With as massive a rouge gallery that Bats has, Warner Brothers is starting to run out of fresh baddies. Recent rumors, stemmed from the graffiteed Robin suit…

Ace Chemicals has been sneaking their logo here and there in a handful of DC’s live-action features lately. You can even see neon lights reading “Ace Chemicals” in the Arkham video games. It is also rumored to be a key location in the upcoming Suicide Squad. Spoilers are ahead. Someone on Reddit happened to spot this from an…

Moments after news broke that Seth Grahame-Smith has left The Flash, rumors are circulating that James Wan (Furious 7) will be giving up his directing duties on Aquaman. BirthMoviesDeath has reported that Wan is “feeling a tremendous amount of trepidation about Aquaman.” Additionally, they reported that Zack Snyder, whom directed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, and is currently working on Justice League, is not getting along very well with the studio. “WB execs have found themselves at odds with Snyder over his vision for Justice League and the DC movieverse going forward,” says the site. Which brings the question if the…

George Miller, the writer/director behind every single Mad Max movie, including last year’s Fury Road, is now rumored to direct Green Lantern Corps. As the director of the failed Justice League Mortal, and a producer on the Justice League movie that will actually see the light of the silver screen, this comes as little surprise. But keep in mind, this is just a rumor, as reported by comicbook.com. There’s been plenty of tidbits on the second Green Lantern movie (the first in the DCEU) as of late. Not to mention, plenty of tidbits for the other movies on the DCEU…

Seth Grahame-Smith has left the director’s chair for the upcoming Flash movie in the DC Extended Universe, which includes Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and the upcoming Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League. Earning his stripes as a screenwriter on such pictures as Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, this was to be his first directing gig. Perhaps, he got cold feet. The only reason we know yet, is that it was over “creative differences.” He will remain as a screenwriter of the superhero flick starring Ezra Miller, which includes writers Phil Lord and…

Once a beloved indie film writer/director, Kevin Smith has seemed to become the Larry King of the fanboy generation. His two-cents worth (‘cuz really, no matter how great they are, that’s all his flicks seem to make) on Batman v Superman, surprisingly, with his best friend playing his favorite superhero, was very critical. This time, Smith had some words on the competition. And evidently, he enjoyed Marvel’s take on the titan-grudge-match much better: https://twitter.com/ThatKevinSmith/status/725552344352493573 “Best Spidey flick too,” he said. Well I sure hope so. As my favorite superhero, I hope they get him right this time. Us common-folk here…

When Back to the Future director, Robert Zemeckis, was asked about a remake to his classic time-travel film, he said: “I mean, to me, that’s outrageous. Especially since it’s a good movie. It’s like saying ‘Let’s remake Citizen Kane. Who are we going to get to play Kane?’ What folly, what insanity is that? Why would anyone do that?” But then, when asked about another of his classic films, Forrest Gump, which indeed will be remade with Jonah Hill: “You know when you got a film as successful and as influential as Forrest Gump, there’s this unspoken rule in Hollywood…
