Speculation on whether the X-Men or Fantastic Four will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been rife since news of Disney’s proposed acquisition of 20th Century Fox broke. A recent report throws a new idea into the mix. While putting forward a case for a new Silver Surfer movie, the article floats the idea that the Avengers: Endgame post-credits scene could hint at characters acquired in the deal. Per THR: With the merger still yet complete, Marvel won’t be allowed to put any teases into April’s Endgame … but let’s just say if we were to catch even a glimpse of a…

There’s been a lot of Harley Quinn related news lately. First, we were treated to a Birds of Prey first look back in January. Then, news broke that Harley wouldn’t be appearing in 2021’s The Suicide Squad. Not only that, but the Joker and Harley Quinn movie has been put on the back burner, and the rumoured Gotham City Sirens crossover with Birds of Prey is nonexistent. But an update to the article which first revealed Harley wouldn’t be a part of the new Squad now states that she will be returning: “UPDATE: I have learned from sources close to production that in fact, the information about…

2016’s Suicide Squad polarized viewers: pretty much universally hated by critics, it still proved popular enough to ultimately gross upwards of $700 million worldwide. One thing that everyone did seem to agree on was that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was the standout star. The Suicide Squad is expected to be more of a soft reboot than a sequel, but you’d be forgiven for thinking that Harley would still be centre stage in the Squad’s newest incarnation. However, a new report suggests the Clown Princess of Crime will not be returning. Worse still, the Joker and Harley Quinn movie, as well as the solo Joker movie,…

There’s been another spanner thrown into the works of the ever churning DC Comics movies rumor mill: a new report dispels pretty much every rumour currently circulating about the beleaguered cinematic universe. Firstly, we can give up any hope of seeing the Joker and Harley Quinn movie (starring Jared Leto and Margot Robbie), or Leto’s solo Joker movie, anytime soon: both are said to have “fallen by the wayside”. Forget about a Gotham City Sirens and Birds of Prey crossover, too – this project is not in development. In more clown-related news, Harley is also set not to feature in 2021’s The Suicide Squad (but fans of the Clown Princess…

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has had a troubled start, to put it lightly. First Disney fired writer/director James Gunn from the director’s chair after offensive tweets resurfaced. Then, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the series, publicly condemned Disney’s decision, and members of the cast penned an open letter in support of Gunn. View this post on Instagram Although I don’t support James Gunn’s inappropriate jokes from years ago, he is a good man. I’d personally love to see him reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please, read the following statement- signed by our entire cast.…

The new footage of Avengers: Endgame which debuted during the Super Bowl may reveal how Tony Stark will survive being stranded in space. The first Endgame trailer shows Iron Man drifting helplessly, a day away from running out of oxygen. The situation looks pretty dire, but luckily Tony is not alone – the TV spot shows Nebula lending him a helping hand as the pair work on something together. We can see sparks flying and Nebula attaching some wires, but apart from that not much is clear. Considering their desperate circumstances, it’s likely that they’re creating something to save themselves. Nebula & Tony…

Warner Bros. recently shared the release date of three upcoming projects in 2021: The Batman, coming June 25th, The Suicide Squad coming on August 6th, and DC Super Pets leading the way on May 21st. The Legion of Super-Pets originated in Adventure Comics #293 in 1962 and in more recent times have featured in a number of books with Capstone Publishing and a series of Cartoon Network shorts; THR reports that ‘[the film] will more than likely be animated, but that has yet to be announced. It’s also possible that the project could be a live-action/CGI hybrid’. While there is no casting info for DC…

Early reactions to a Captain Marvel test screening are reportedly very positive – especially about one character in particular. While you may be expecting attention to be focused on Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, the titular hero herself, people are in fact so excited about Goose the cat. That’s right, not Captain Marvel, but Captain Marvel’s cat. Steven Weintraub, Editor-In-Chief of Collider, tweeted that Goose ‘stole the show’: Hearing #CaptainMarvel screened. After it ended everyone was talking about the cat. Stole the show. Must. See. This. Movie. The Batman has had a tumultuous history to date – originally set to be written and directed by Ben Affleck (who would also star), Matt Reeves took over in 2017 as director, and whether Affleck will still feature in the film is a matter of speculation – but it definitely looks unlikely. Since then, any details have been elusive, but recently Reeves opened up on his take on the Caped Crusader. While speaking with THR, Reeves said: “It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be…

The outlook for Warner Bros.’ upcoming Joker film seems great so far – the film boasts a seriously star studded cast, with Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, the titular villain before his transformation into the Clown Prince of Crime, and Robert DeNiro and Zazie Beetz in supporting roles. Test footage also looks promising; the video shows just enough to reassure us that Phoenix’s Joker will be as unnerving and terrifying as he should be. But the latest update might raise some concern. Beetz, in conversation with MTV, was pretty tight lipped about the film as a whole, but did reveal that…
