Netflix has been on a bit of a purge when it comes to the Marvel series on their streaming service. Starting with the ambiguous “rebranding” of the Defenders Facebook page, effectively eliminating the thoughts of a second season, to the out right cancellation of Iron Fist, followed then by Luke Cage. Once Upon a Deadpool, the PG-13 cut of the successful R-rated Deadpool 2, is already crushing it in theaters. Marvel Studios is in the process of making the Marvel Cinematic Universe more diverse. Starting with Captain Marvel, the studio plans to have more than 50% of their heroes to be female. They are also diversifying their creative talents with female directors.
