Even though the past weekend couldn’t have gone any worse for 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, the studio still plans to move forward with a sequel – currently scheduled for June 9, 2017. “Everything I’ve heard would indicate that the studio will move forward with a Fantastic Four sequel,” HitFix reports. “It may not make that original 2017 date, but they’re definitely planning to make it.” It’s a bit surprising, considering the studio is expected to lose $60 million dollars on the film but Fox probably doesn’t want to let the rights revert back to Marvel for…

A box office analyst is projecting a $60 million dollar loss from Fantastic Four for FOX  – according to Variety. Per the report: “Fantastic Four” is struggling to find its footing at the box office this weekend, suggesting that not even superheroes are immune to poor reviews. Early estimates show the 20th Century Fox release struggling to hit $30 million for the weekend, which is well below the anticipated mid-$40 million mark. Earlier we reported that FOX is considering moving a Deadpool sequel into the release date that currently has a Fantastic Four sequel in it. Now, there’s even more news regarding a Deadpool sequel – and who the studio wants to appear in it. Keep in mind these are rumors but we’ve heard something like this before: “They’re already kicking around ideas for the sequel. As always take this stuff with a grain of salt but it definitely makes sense. The Daily Superhero is reporting that 20th Century Fox has been having internal discussions regarding the possibility of cancelling the Fantastic Four sequel and putting a Deadpool sequel in it’s June 9, 2017 release date. Of course, this is an unconfirmed rumor but with the way that Fantastic Four has bombed this weekend and how positive the buzz has been for Deadpool, it definitely makes sense. It’s CLOBERRIN’ time – well, for the Fantastic Four at the box office this weekend. The film was clobbered by Mission Impossible and only managed to gather $26.2 million at the domestic box office according to estimates from The Hollywood Reporter. Fox was tracking for about a $40-50 million dollar opening, so that’s well below the estimates from the studio. A new report about trouble with Josh Trank and Fox states that Trank was “destructive” on the set. According to Entertainment Weekly’s sources, anyway, who said the following: Several high level sources close to Fantastic Four – spoken to independently of each other – have told EW the rift on set was not about creative differences but rather combative behavior Trank demonstrated toward the crew, producers, studio and even the stars.
