The Walking Dead’s former producer, director, and creator, Frank Darabont, is suing the AMC network for $280 million. He was fired from the show in 2011, during its second season, and says that this was a breach of his contract. He alleges that the reason for the breach was to avoid paying him his fair share of the show’s profits. For six years, it’s been the most popular show on television, so those profits would certainly be substantial. In addition to its sky-high ratings, which bring in revenue from advertisers, there is also a significant amount of merchandise associated with…

There are some fans who have taken exception to the casting of Tom Holland as Spider-Man, saying the actor is too young, or doesn’t resemble Peter Parker as much as they had hoped. (For the record, Holland is 20, and is pretty much a dead ringer for Parker.) To those people, I would like to say, open your eyes. If what you’ve seen so far isn’t enough, take a look at this picture, posted to Holland’s Instagram today. https://www.instagram.com/p/BK3XTr6jA86/ Now, compare him to these close-ups from the comics. Still have any complaints now? Holland shared the picture from the movie’s…

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the young webslinger’s first solo film in the MCU. Along with the familiar characters of Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Aunt May, Tony Stark, Betty Brandt, and Flash Thompson, we’re also getting several who are new to the screen. Donald Glover’s unannounced character, Michael Keaton’s Vulture, and Bokeem Woodbine’s Shocker will all be coming to the big screen for the first time. While Vulture is set to be the main villain, we don’t yet know how Shocker is going to factor into the story. At least, we didn’t until the film’s director, Jon Watts, posted a seemingly…

Comics love the idea of “vs.” Pitting a hero against his greatest villain, another hero, or even an alternate-reality version of the hero himself is a time-honored comic book staple. The latter poses perhaps the most fascinating possibilities. How would you deal with another you? Same powers, same abilities, but perhaps a somewhat different backstory, and therefore, a somewhat different personality. Would alternate you be as heroic as prime you? Would he live by the same rules, or would his other experiences cause him to have a different code? Would the two (or more) of you fight for the same…

Are you excited to see Ben Affleck’s solo Batman outing? You better be, because it’s coming sooner than you think. Speaking at the 25th annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference, Warner Brothers CEO Jeff Bewkes talked about the future of DC Entertainment. The reboot of Batman with Ben Affleck was a big success. He’s going to be EP (executive producer) on Justice League, and that’s helpful to the team. And Ben announced a Batman movie that he’s going to write, direct, and star in – I think it’s a year and a half out.” What? We had previously assumed that it…

Ghost Rider made quite a splash during the season premiere of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. His quick dispatching of a group of white supremacists, and then his later battle with Quake, were better than anything we saw in the character’s two feature film outings. But how did the effects team create such an awesomely realistic look for the Rider? There was definitely a lot of CGI involved, but the process also involved more practical effects than you might think. The show’s VFX supervisor, Mark Kolpack, explains in this behind the scenes video how he created the lighting that would originate from…

There’s a new Power Rangers film on the way next spring, starring Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston. It’s hard to say how good it might be – those are some solid talents, but good lord, the TV show was awful. I’m 34 now, so I was in the right age group for the show when it debuted in 1993. But even then, I could see how incredibly campy it was. However, the concept was certainly interesting – a group of seemingly ordinary high school students are granted the powers and skills necessary to deal with the universe’s greatest villain, the…

Well, this is disturbing. As if Harley Quinn and Mistah J’s dynamic of physical and emotional abuse (not to mention the psychological torture) wasn’t unsettling enough already, someone decided to take it a step further – which is about ten steps too far. YouTube user Nerdy Hero has taken footage from Suicide Squad (including clips from the trailers, some of which didn’t make it into the final cut of the film) and cut and arranged it in such a way that it appears to be telling a dark-as-fuck love story. And not just any love story. Remember the abuse we…

This just in: people are assholes. Some of the worst among them are paparazzi, both professional and amateur, and the vulturous dickbags who think they’re entitled to get in someone’s personal space, and that the person owes them time and conversation and pictures and autographs, simply because that person happens to be famous. News flash, losers – there is a bubble. You are in the bubble. Back the fuck up. Chris Pratt, our very own Star-Lord, is one of the nicest people in Hollywood. He regularly visits children in hospitals, raises money for charities, and is amazingly patient with…
