The films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have received glowing reviews, becoming both critically and commercially successful. It’s pretty much a given that they’re going to be great. At least, most of them have. There have been a couple of exceptions, of course. The two that most fans can agree on being sub-par entries are Iron Man 3, and Thor: The Dark World. (But hey, 18 out of 20 is still a 90% success rate. I think any studio would take those odds.) As it turns out, even Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, was unimpressed with the effort While IM3 was…

We knew it was bound to happen eventually. These days, few hit movies manage to escape the Honest Trailer treatment. The year’s biggest mega-blockbuster, Avengers: Infinity War, is no exception. No matter how good a movie is – and let’s face it, this one is bloody incredible – it’s not above being lampooned mercilessly. If you simply look at things from a properly deranged angle, everything can be funny. Death, war, destruction, fear, disintegration, sorcery, patricide, banishment to barren hellscapes, incarceration, and doomed mutant/AI romance. It’s all hilarious. Don’t believe me? Watch it for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ28gGCa_jI We see some very…

To boldly go where no one has gone before…….that’s the essence of Star Trek. But the franchise is headed into uncharted territory even for them – an Enterprise without Captain James T. Kirk at the helm for Star Trek 4. According to The Hollywood Reporter, contract negotiations have fallen through with actor Chris Pine, who portrays the brave but reckless young captain. And he’s not the only one – Chris Hemsworth is also said to be out of the picture. Star Trek took Pine from working actor to movie star in 2009. His portrayal of the younger version of the…

The long-awaited deal between Marvel and Fox means that we’re finally going to get to bring some glaring omissions into the MCU. How long have we wished to see many X-Men join in the fun? Wolverine in The Avengers? Magneto as a father figure to the Maximoff twins? Villains like Mr. Sinister, Omega Red, Sabretooth, or Apocalypse facing off against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? With contract negotiations, all things are possible. While we don’t yet have details about which specific characters will be utilized in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the deal makes it feasible that any hero or villain who Fox once…

If you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War (and if you haven’t, you’re fired), then you know that the person who Nick Fury attempts to summon at the end before turning to dust is none other than Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Fury is seen typing on a pager-like device, which he drops upon vanishing. The camera pans to the communicator lying on the ground, with the symbol of Captain Marvel visible on the screen. As we all know, the Captain’s solo film is due in theaters next March. So it only makes sense for the MCU films to start tying the…

Long before she graced MCU screens as Hope Van Dyne, Evangeline Lilly first became famous on the TV show Lost. Portraying castaway Kate Austen, Lilly stood out among the cast of the hugely popular series. While most actresses hope to achieve success based on their talent alone, the sad truth is that many careers hinge largely on their beauty, and their willingness to exploit it. In fact, it’s become so commonplace that it’s often simply expected by producers that actresses will be willing to do nude, or otherwise sexually explicit, scenes. Because of this expectation, and the character’s popularity with…

A slew of important and beloved characters were killed off in Avengers: Infinity War. The majority of the lives in question were claimed by Thanos at the end of the film, after he assembled all of the Infinity Gems into the Gauntlet. But a few were sadly dispatched earlier in the movie; namely Loki, Heimdall and Gamora. This leaves us wondering: even if those dusted by the infamous finger snap are restored to corporeal form in Avengers 4, will that be of any help to those he killed before? Or are those deaths truly permanent? The jury is out on…

As a huge Godzilla fan and avid collector, I’ve been waiting since the end credits rolled in 2014 for Godzilla: King of the Monsters for the character to get his well-deserved sequel. On May 31, 2019, it will finally arrive. Will it be worth the five-year wait? Only time will tell, but I’m not going to lie, I’m super stoked. We received our first peek at the film Wednesday, with the release of a 41-second teaser. In it, we see a young girl (Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown) attempting to communicate via radio. She is greeted at first with…

There are many tiers of stardom, especially when it comes to Hollywood actors. You have the dreamers, waiting tables between endless auditions, at the bottom of the heap.
