Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

After years of clamoring from die-hard DC fans, The Snyder Cut of Justice League is finally becoming a reality. While many fans and critics were not pleased with the original 2017 release (it was a notable box office dud that halted some future DCEU plans), a lot of people saw past the final product to see a lot of potential. Along with the official announcement of the Snyder Cut, it’s been confirmed that Darkseid will be making an appearance. Warner Brothers is granting roughly 20 to 30 million dollars to Snyder to finish his cut, so it will be interesting to see…

For better and worse, Twilight was a major cultural phenomenon when it debuted in theaters. As an adaptation of the Stephanie Myers novel series, its tale of forbidden love between a human being and a vampire struck a chord with adolescent audiences. Stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have become a notable name since staring in the franchise, while numerous supporting players like Anna Kendrick and Taylor Lautner have enjoyed a prosperous career. Sadly, one of the unsung stars of the original Twilight Gregory Tyree Boyce has passed away at the age of 30. According to Variety, Gregory Tyree Boyce and his…

Fortnite is the machine that won’t stop churning, being a sizable aspect of gaming zeitgeist since transforming into a Battle Royale game in 2017. With its unique animation style and intuitive building controls, the game took the tried and formula to an addicting new-level, drawing the interest of a major adolescent audience to this day. While it’s current Season Two continues to add interesting new wrinkles to the game (the addition of CPU spies adds another hurdle for players to get over), Epic Games is already teasing its upcoming third season. Data miners have discovered a few leaks for Fornite Season 3,…

Few celebrate Adam Sandler for his business acumen, yet the comedic stalwart made a revelatory deal with Netflix back in 2014. No one knew it at the time, but Sandler would be the first of many to dip their toes in the streaming market, with his brand’s signature laid back filmmaking approach connecting with an even wider audience (2019’s Murder Mystery was one of Netflix’s most successful original films). While the Happy Madison business model may have evolved, their tired filmmaking approach is still very much intact, exemplified with their latest misfire The Wrong Missy. The film follows bland everyman Tim…

While most MCU movies have become hits, few have been as groundbreaking as 2018’s Black Panther. Coming from acclaimed director Ryan Coogler, the project was a much-needed reinvention of the Marvel brand, combining its blockbuster thrills with surprisingly relevant social commentary. It was an unprecedented smash hit for Marvel, shattering box office records on its way to earning 1.3 billion dollars worldwide while reaching new heights of acclaim (it’s still the only MCU movie nominated for Best Picture). With all of that success, it’s no surprise Black Panther 2 is on its way. Fans still have some time till the sequels 2022 release,…

The Purge franchise has grown into a substantial part of our cultural zeitgeist, with its high-concept premise (a day where everyone can commit whatever crime they please) resonating with audiences. While the original Purge was a mixed bag aside from its unique premise, its respective follow-ups have made a strong effort to distinguish their own tone. The last entry in the franchise Purge: Election Year pushed the series boundaries further, wisely commenting on the social/racial inequality present in our society. Many were excited to see what the latest entry The Forever Purge could do to up the ante, but it appears fans are going to have…

While Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield have offered strong performances as everyone’s favorite web-slinger (can’t forget Shameik Moore’s fresh take as Miles Morales in Spider-Verse), Tobey Maguire will always be my favorite iteration of Spider-Man. Starring in Sam Raimi’s innovative trilogy, Maguire perfectly embodied Peter Parker’s nerdy persona, while Raimi’s stylized direction kept audiences on the edge of their seats. While many Spider-Man fans have rewatched these movies to death, a new Easter Egg has been discovered in the controversial Spider-Man 3. According to Reddit user Yozwo, a screenshot of Spider-Man 3 gives a detailed look at Peter Parker’s hand, visibly showing the bite…

Similar to when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker in The Dark Knight, the news of Robert Pattinson playing Batman drew a lot of controversy from fans. While some loved the choice due to the actor’s recent run of acclaimed work (I think he could be the best Batman yet), others have been concerned about the former Twilight heartthrob playing the Caped Crusader. With filming currently paused on The Batman, Pattinson continues to observe his role as Gotham’s Detective. In a profile with GQ, Robert Pattinson discussed his quarantine experience, with the actor looking for new ways to make his mark on the iconic…

Scarface is one of the definitive rise-and-fall gangster stories that have stood the test of time translating effortlessly between two different eras. In 1932 original, director Howard Hawks addressed the iconic gangsters of the day through the tale of Antonio Camonte, pushing boundaries in what was allowed in big-screen films. Then came Brian DePalma’s 1983 iteration of Scarface, which captured the flashy 80’s drug scene through Al Pacino’s swaggering presence as Tony Montana. While rumors have swirled about another potential Scarface remake (Antonie Fuqua was originally tapped to direct), the project never quite materialized. That is until now, except with a new director on…

Talking about The New Mutants release has become a long-running joke at this point, with the film delayed numerous times since its original April 13th, 2018 release. Trying to give a unique, horror-driven spin to the X-Men universe, many have been excited to see what this original project could bring to the table, but the film became a casualty of the Disney/Fox merger before being delayed again after the COVID-19 outbreak. After rumors swirled about New Mutants being released via streaming, Disney has decided to still opt for a theatrical release. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The New Mutants will be released on August 28, 2020,…
