Last night, Joe Russo posted a video on Facebook, live from the mixing stage at Disney, where the crew behind Captain America: Civil War are putting the final touches on the film.  In the video, Joe Russo says the film will be delivered in a week and a half. Posted by The Russo Brothers on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 Russo  pans around the room, introducing producers, the editor, the sound team, and his brother and co-director Anthony.  All the while, a scene from the upcoming Marvel film is playing in the background.  The scene shows General Ross talking to the…

It’s time for another installment of “Here’s What This Movie Could Have Been But Will Never Be”.  It’s always a bummer to hear stories of a movie that sounds amazing in theory, but we never get a chance to see it as talented people begin to have “creative differences”. A few moons ago, Sacha Baron Cohen was lined up to play Queen front man Freddie Mercury in a biopic.  Not only does Cohen bare a striking resemblance to the late singer, but he seemed determined to get the character just right, in all his wondrous, and at times ugly,…

Whether anyone wants to admit it, the rivalry between the DC Extended Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in full swing, and has been for some time.  Anthony Mackie tore into Man of Steel. Zack Snyder said that Ant-Man was a “flavor of the week”. In an interview with FilmInk, Snyder was asked of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice was going to ignite a rivalry between DC and Marvel (and I would argue, ignited months ago already).  Snyder had this to say: “I have a great interest in the movies that they’re making, and I have nothing…

There’s no doubt that people are expecting a different kind of movie with Captain America: Civil War.  After years of watching these characters fight side by side, we are about to seem go at it face to face.  We are meant to choose sides, both emotionally and through social media (#TeapCap all the way, I won’t hear anything else). Sebastian Stan stars in the movie as Bucky, AKA The Winter Soldier.  Captain America’s allegiance to his old friend seems to be the crux of he and Tony Stark’s falling out.  Stan recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight and talked about…

Once upon a time, a remake of Wes Craven’s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street was being developed.  While most everyone scoffs at horror reboots and remakes, it seems that this new take on Elm Street was shaping up to be a pretty interesting movie.  Those who read the script said it was strong.  Jackie Earle Haley was set to star as Freddie Kruger, fresh off his celebrated performance as Rorschach in Watchmen.   It also had two insanely talented directors attached with Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, who were just coming off their notorious film Inside. As time went…

At this point, the world seems to have accepted that Daniel Craig most likely won’t return as James Bond.  Which means there’s only one thing to do: wildly speculate which British hunk will star in the next 007 film. The latest rumor comes from an offhand remark from Tom Hiddleston.  While doing  an interview for his upcoming film High-Rise, Hiddleston had this to say: “I’m a huge fan of the series. We all went to see Spectre when we were shooting Skull Island in Hawaii. I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole…

While the runtime is most likely a reflection of the huge cast and pivotal moment…

Much like a Predator uncloaking out of thin air, more and more details about Shane Black’s The Predator are coming to light.  Last month, a teaser poster dropped revealing the titles and tagline of the film (You’ll Never See Him Coming).  Now, we have another morsel of information concerning a potential cameo. In an interview with TheArnoldFans.com, Schwarzenegger, the original Dutch himself, said that he’s meeting with Shane Black soon to discuss the film: “I haven’t talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with…

A little over two years ago, the world was rocked with the out-of-nowhere news that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would not only be starring in an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, but would sitting in the director’s chair as well.  It was to be an ambitious project, especially for one-time director. Well, looks like news that may have been too odd to be true may have been too odd to be true.  In a statement on his Facebook page, Gordon-Levitt revealed to his fans that he was walking away from involvement with a film adaptation of Sandman.  The actor and director…
