Marvel Comic book readers will know that for a while, Jean Grey has been dead. She originally debuted in 1963 as Marvel Girl she was one of the five original members of the X-Men. Since 2005, after the issue #137 in Uncanny X-Men, Jean killed herself to save her teammates. She had become the Dark Phoenix after she bonded with the cosmic Phoenix Force. However, 2005 wasn’t the end of Jean Grey’s story, as she came back through time travel in 2012 after the launch of All-new X-Men.  Through this trope she was able to interact with many Marvel heroes and…

After the awesome trailer for Justice League dropped at Comic Con, speculation has been raised as to who appears at the end of the trailer. The speculation and probable actuality is that this is Superman. However, Geeks far and wide have speculated that this could be any of a number of characters. These include a Green Lantern, Superman and in my opinion – Supergirl. Many have argued that, and this includes myself, that the holographic image Bruce is looking at looks quite effeminate. Now, I can see both arguments, that it’s just Superman, but there is a precedent in the…

Disney are arguably the biggest studio force in the business. Netflix is probably the biggest film and TV streaming service. For a number of years they have been in a very good and lucrative partnership. But as with some marriages it’s time for them to split. Disney feel they can venture into the streaming service for their products and are intending to set up a a Disney specific streaming service. Disney and Netflix’s deal comes to an end in 2019 and from Disney’s perspective it would be a way of cutting out the middle man and providing a service specifically…

Spider-Man: Homecoming was a big hit with movie goers and comic book movie fans. It re-ignited Spider-Man after the lackluster performance of The two Amazing Spider-Man films. It also slipped nicely into the pre-existing Marvel Cinematic Universe – having Peter Parker’s first appearance in Iron Man 2. It rebooted Spider-Man for new audiences, with a high school setting. We also have new characters added to the live action interpretation too – with two potential love interests for Peter. First there was Liz Allan, played by Laura Harrier and Michelle Jones played by Zendaya. A nod to the more well known…

Deadpool is the master of fourth wall breaks. So much so that it’s hard to see where Wade Wilson ends and Ryan Reynolds begins. Or vice versa… The marketing for Deadpool was some of the best to have come from a movie for a number of years. Being fairly self referential, mocking, and oddly helpful when it came to checking the health of one’s snooker balls. Deadpool 2 is shooting at present and has had a similar build up on the marketing side of things. Domino has been revealed in the same pose, position and location Deadpool had when marketing the…

It’s no secret at this late stage that production of Marvel’s Inhumans series has been wrought with bad publicity. The first images made the series look like a group of Convention attendees. The first trailer was a bit of a mess that made Tom Cruise’s Mummy soundness trailer look professional. But now, the first reviews came out and pretty much destroyed the little hope this series had about being a winner. The review that has been removed from Spoiler TV stated that the show was: “Simply awful. I’m so disappointed since I generally love everything Marvel does. But this is absolutely terrible.…

Sharon Carter (AGENT 13) actor Emily VanCamp has revealed that there were plans to have her character appear in Marvel’s Agents of Shield. Appearing in two MCU films, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, it kind of makes sense for Agent 13 to have appeared in Agents of Shield at some point. As Agents of Shield was tied into the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier it would have been interesting to see her make an appearance in the then defunct Shield. When asked by Deadline about appearing, VanCamp said: “I think it was discussed,…
