Stan Lee, the 93-year-old who helped make Marvel what it is today, managed to sit down with The Hollywood Reporter and talk a little bit about his life. “I always wrote for myself,” says Stan. “I figured I’m not that different from other people. If there’s a story I like a lot, there’s got to be others with similar tastes.” And this is exactly what happened when Stan Lee and his fellow writer Jack Kirby began creating an abundance of characters and storylines for Marvel; turning them into what they are today. “I was stupid in a business way. Unlike The Avengers, which saw the titular superheroes come together to fight an apocalyptic alien threat, fans should expect a different approach to the upcoming Netflix series The Defenders. The Defenders will feature Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist uniting together. So when that happens, that’s ultimately what…

Fox is bringing their new Exorcist series, based on the book and movie of the same name, to Comic-Con; with it they’ve included an all-new trailer. The plot follows two very different priests as they tackle one family’s case of terrifying demonic possession. Personally, I think it’s an odd choice to call it The Exorcist – yeah, it does well for advertising purposes, but where in the story (beyond including an exorcism) does it connect to any of the existing work? It’s not a sequel, so it can only be considered a remake, but then it’s using all-new names and…

On July 19th, Evil Dead fans were treated to a new trailer for Season 2 of Ash vs Evil Dead, and ironically enough the trailer was so violent it had been banned from Comic-Con. And as you can see from the trailer below, it is quite violent, but that’s what Evil Dead is known for. It’s the last in a long line of exploitation horror that once thrived in the 1980s, and I’d say that’s something that should be respected. Of course, it also makes sense, given that 1980s horror was consistently banned and frowned upon. Some things never change,…
