When Black Widow and Hawkeye went to retrieve the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame, it was inevitable that only one was going to return. We knew this going in, given the context clues from the last movie. They say bad publicity is still publicity. If people are talking about it, they’re going to know about it. This rang true for Joker this weekend. It seemed that whispers of its Oscar-worthy praise were drowned out by the negative press it received. It was evident that Holland really enjoyed working for Disney, and he wanted to continue to do so. When Ruby Rose played Batwoman in last year’s Elseworlds, it was to serve as a backdoor pilot to her own show in the Arrowverse. With cable becoming a thing of the past, streaming services are popping up everywhere. Netflix and Hulu were the pioneers of the market. And they upped their game by creating original programming. Soon, there will be NBC’s Peacock, WB’s HBOMax, Apple TV, and Disney Plus. The most progressive of these is Disney’s service. Daredevil had a great run on Netflix. Some of the other shows in Netflix’s corner of the Marvel universe did okay too. The Evil Dead franchise had a few start-ups in recent years. The satire horror was remade into a more serious venture in 2013.
