Charlie Hunnam, of Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim fame, hasn’t become a huge movie star despite appearing in several big television and movie hits recently. It’s not currently even confirmed that he will return for Pacific Rim 2 despite John Boyega joining the cast (though we can assume he’s definitely going to be in it so don’t worry). But that’s not stopping a sizeable fandom of his from rooting for him to be in the DC Cinematic Universe. Arrow is still going strong and has anchored the DC TV Universe for the past four years, so the DC…

It was pretty certain already, but there is now confirmation: Jesse Eisenberg will be a part of the ever-growing cast of Justice League: Part One, reprising his role as Lex Luthor. After the divisive reception his character had when he premiered in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s no telling what kind of role he’ll have in the movie. Here’s what the actor said: “I’m kind of in wait. They just started filming Justice League, so I’m kind of like waiting for my crack at it. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say, because I feel like there’s…

James Gunn is known for his very candid Facebook posts where he discusses movies, comics, and other aspects of nerd culture, so it was only natural for him to comment about the second-most-important comic book twist of the past month (sorry, Marvel, Rebirth was still much bigger), which is of course the revelation that Steve Rogers has apparently been a Hydra agent for his entire career. The twist has been decried by a huge portion of the comic/comic movie/nerd community, in a similar fashion to the fighting about the new Ghostbusters reboot, and it looks like James Gunn has…

It’s no secret that the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot is receiving very divisive reactions online. The first trailer is the most-disliked trailer on Youtube, and there has been many an internet fight between those that think that the movie is a pointless cash-in and those that think the people that hate the movie are misogynists. While the movie’s director has weighed in several times on the online hate that it’s received, its star Melissa McCarthy has now spoken out about the reactions she and her co-stars have received: “All those comments – ‘You’re ruining my childhood!’ I mean, really, four…

As happens every day on Twitter, there’s a new popular hashtag movement trending about some movie or something. As a seeming companion to last week’s #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, there’s now a trending hashtag for #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend. Most of this is from the rabid fandom shippers of Cap and Bucky Barnes, his childhood friend and companion throughout the recent Captain America: Civil War. When asked about the potential relationship, Chris Evans had this to say: “That wouldn’t be so bad. It’s just never been part of my approach to the character. My subtext didn’t involve that dynamic. I think even with the first Captain…

In an exclusive scoop by the Nerdist, the villains of Wolverine 3, which is currently shooting in New Orleans, have been revealed: The Reavers, a villainous group of anti-mutant cyborgs, will be in Wolverine 3. They’re an elite taskforce that are often used to try and wipe out the X-Men, under the leadership of also-cyborg Donald Pierce. They were first created in 1988 and were popular during the 90s, though they have not been used much in recent comics. Since this movie will be based on Old Man Logan, a storyline that consists largely of characters Fox doesn’t have the…

Time for more Black Panther news. With the movie set for release in just under a year and a half, production is definitely on its way, which is why we’ve gotten so many casting updates lately. And now an apparently official casting call is out for people to audition for roles. You can see the casting call here. Some of the characters include White Wolf, Man-Ape, and Erik Killmonger, all villains in the Black Panther comics.…

If you don’t remember, Batman is going to be in Suicide Squad. The role has not been specified and he’s largely been left out of the marketing, but Batman News has given a few more details as to what he’s going to end up doing in the movie: Batman News can confirm that Batman does not cross the path of the entire team in Suicide Squad. He has a scene with Will Smith’s Deadshot, and without getting too specific, it’s sure to be an emotional one! Next is the car scene that we saw in the trailers with Batman, The…

It’s getting close to the time of a new superhero movie release. So you know what that means… actors, producers, and directors hitting the press circuit and hyping up future projects that may or may not ever exist! Yeah, there was a bit of sarcasm in there. But you always have to know that the stuff that everyone says during these things is never completely solid. If something they say goes viral it can end up becoming solid, though, so we can at least take that in stride. As for now, Bryan Singer was asked about a Deadpool/X-Men crossover. His…

The review embargo for X-Men: Apocalypse has been lifted, but so far, the reviews don’t look great, which means Fox may have ended its winning streak of good-to-great X-Men films since First Class in 2011. As of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes pegs the movie at a 40% positive score from 27 critics. There’ll be another 200 or so before the end, but Rotten Tomatoes scores rarely improve very much from the early critic numbers. It could still end up with a positive rating, but that’s unlikely. For those who like Metacritic, that site’s weighted critic score is smack-dab in the…
