Warner Bros.’ upcoming Justice League has received a new cast member: Julian Lewis Jones. The creative minds behind many of Marvel’s best hits, the Russo Brothers, are stepping into unmarked territory by adapting the cult classic film The Warriors into a hour-long episodic series for Hulu. The Warriors, a 1979 film adaptation of the novel of the same name was directed by Walter Hill. The Russos are, according to deadline, hoping the adaptation will honor the original film and add “its own brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence.” They’ll also be working with Frank Balding on the project which still needs a director. Reboots are everywhere as of late, and it’s particularly been popular to reboot old science-fiction properties for newer audiences given the new technology and advancements to take advantage of. This is why, naturally, Lost in Space has been chosen for a rebooted series on the streaming-service Netflix. Warner Bros. has been trying to develop an Akira adaptation since 2002, and most recently rumors have circulated that they want Fast & Furious’ and Star Trek Beyond’s director Justin Lin to direct.
