Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

While A24 might get a lot of attention as the premier indie distributor, NEON has positioned itself to even or surpass its highly-publicized partner. Along with their Best Picture-winning project Parasite, NEON has continued to support bold and creative projects. Not all of these films have registered massive returns at the box office, but films like Ingrid Goes West, Vox Lux, and Beach Bum have all developed strong cult followings that continue to support the projects today. It’s highly likely that their newly acquired project Pig, which stars cult favorite Nicolas Cage, could gather similar success. According to Variety, NEON has officially picked up the distributing rights for Pig, which…

The Coronavirus continues to impact our society greatly, with a majority of people spending their days in quarantine trying to limit the virus’ spread. While a majority of people have accepted this reality, there are stories of those who refuse to self-isolate, such as the spring breakers in Miami who have simply brushed off the legitimacy of the virus. This has drawn criticism from many pundits, including Winter Soldier himself Sebastian Stan. Appearing remotely on the Muscle and Fitness podcast, Sebastian Stan heavily criticized the people who refuse to self-isolate during the Coronavirus. Check out his passionate plea: “But what…

Sony’s latest superhero title Morbius is a significant one for the studio, as they are attempting to create their own cinematic universe. While they have had great success with the Tom Holland Spider-Man films and Venom, those characters are easily the most marketable in Sony’s superhero library. Making the villainous vampire Morbius, who has yet to appear in any Spider-Man film, work on the big-screen will be a huge test for what Sony is trying to accomplish. While we’re still ways away from the film’s July 31st release (that’s if it isn’t pushed back further due to the Coronavirus), a new image gives fans…

Re-edits of old acclaimed projects can be both a blessing and a curse. For every great example like Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner Director’s Cut that adds substantially to their original version, there’s something like George Lucas’ numerous re-edits of the Star Wars trilogy, with each additional (and unnecessary) change continuing to piss fans off. The latter treatment is now coming Disney’s way, with fans noticing a re-edited scene of Lilo and Stitch that has caused mixed reactions. In this scene discovered by the Inside the Magic Twitter Page, a moment where Lilo hides in a dryer in the original film has been changed, with Lilo now…

In his peak, few stars could draw in crowds like Johnny Depp in the 2000s. The eccentric actor made waves with his dedicated portrayal of the drunken pirate Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, turning a risky Disney bet into a long-running franchise. Every project he touched turned into box office gold, until the 2010s, where his career seemingly hit a wall. Whether it was a failed reunion with his long-time partner Tim Burton (Dark Shadows) or bewildering misfires (Mortdecai), little could go right for the actor. Many would include 2014’s Transcendence in that pack, being a massive critical (20% on…

Reboots can often be a dicey proposition, with 2019’s Hellboy being a great example of this. Despite featuring Stranger Things star David Harbour as the titular beast, as well as a refreshing grindhouse take on the comic book story, the reboot was met with unanimous dislike by critics (17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and audiences alike. While there are several factors to blame for a movie’s failure, Harbour is setting his sights on fans of the original Guillermo Del Toro-directed/Ron Pearlman-led projects. Speaking with ScreenRant, David Harbour said the reboot failed before it began shooting due to fans affinity with the Del Toro/Pearlman films.…

While his career did not get started off on the best foot (the less said about Green Lantern and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the better), Ryan Reynolds has developed into one of Hollywood’s exclusive A-list talents. With his longtime passion project Deadpool, Reynolds displayed an impressive range that made the character an icon, smashing box office records with the two Deadpool projects. Now being synonymous with Deadpool’s offbeat comedic sensibility, Reynolds is embracing that role with a new video parodying celebrities’ response to the Coronavirus. In a video posted on Reynold’s Twitter page, the actor hilarious mocked the generic response videos that many celebrities have made, while also mocking the significance…

The Coronavirus will leave a lasting impact on our world history, so it was only a matter of time that the event was reflected in popular culture. Due to how lengthy the filmmaking process is though, it was considered unlikely until films dealing with or referencing the Coronavirus were to be released. That’s where distributor Full Moon Features steps in, releasing a trailer for their upcoming horror/comedy Corona Zombies that is set to hit theaters next month. While little is known about how long this project was in production, the trailer for the upcoming project is attempting to tackle the global…

Some films are anomalies, breaking any pre-conceived notion about how a film should preform to become a major success. The Mel Gibson-directed project The Passion of the Christ is a great example of this, with the film dominating pop culture conversation when it was released in 2004. Despite being an R-rated film about the death of Jesus, the film became a box office smash, earning 370 million dollars domestically on a 30 million dollar budget. With that kind of success, its no surprise that a sequel has been rumored ever since its release, with star Jim Caviezel giving a recent update…

The Coronavirus continues to impede Hollywood business for the foreseeable future, with a majority of upcoming releases moving off the release calendar. Blockbusters like No Time To Die, Mulan, and Black Widow have all been pushed back from their summertime releases, leaving many to wonder what other blockbusters would do in the wake of this virus. After rumors swirled about the film going straight to streaming, Warner Brothers have officially announced a delayed-release for Wonder Woman 1984.  Variety confirmed today that Warner Brothers will be altering their entire summer movie calender, pushing Wonder Woman, Scoob, and In the Heights back from their May/June release dates. While the latter…
