Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

The James Gunn v. Disney drama has been well-documented over the past months, with the lack of resolution still leaving Guardians of the Galaxy 3 on hold for the time being. Fans still want Gunn to return as writer and director, but Disney has been firm in their statement, leaving many to wonder whether Vol. 3 would ever happen. Thankfully, James’ brother Sean Gunn, who has worked on the previous Guardians films, has given some insight into Disney’s thought process. In an interview with Tulsa World, Gunn shared that Disney still has plan for Guardians’ Vol. 3. “I know Disney still wants to make the movie. I…

Coming off the impressive critical and financial success of Won’t You Be My Neighbor, next year will feature yet another Mister Rogers film in (what some are saying the title is) You Are My Friend. Instead of a documentary, this narrative feature will star the one and only Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers. While the film still has some ways to go before its release (Sony confirmed an October 2019 release), Sony has thankfully given us a preview of Hanks as Mr. Rogers with this first set photo. Take a look: Tom Hanks is Mister Rogers, coming to a neighborhood near you October…

Despite some early skepticism from some, it seems that many are starting to jump on the Joker hype train. The first released footage and photos displayed an intimidating and dedicated Joaquin Phoenix, who could  possibly rival Heath Ledger as the best Joker of all time. Alright, maybe not that good, but hopefully pretty close. Thankfully Warner Brothers did not wait long to give fans another look into The Joker’s production. Unlike the traditional Joker get-up we are used to seeing however, Phoenix is dawning an entirely different costume, take a look: View this post on Instagram Work. Big news came out yesterday with the announcement that LeBron James will be starring in a new Space Jam film, with Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler serving as a producer. While that initial announcement was vague, it was easy to be excited about a film that has been teased throughout the past decade. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long to get a follow-up to yesterday’s major announcement. Discussed in a major Hollywood Reporter profile on LeBron James, it was revealed that Space Jam 2 will not be a sequel, rather a reboot of the original’s concept. James’ business partner Maverick Carter shared his excitement for the…

Young adult films are a dime a dozen these days, with every new series starting with the goal of being the next Harry Potter or Hunger Games. As films like Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar have shown, its much easier said then done. The latest YA adaptation, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, thankfully doesn’t try to recreate this formula, and its all the better for it. Based on a classic supernatural saga by John Bellairs, The House with a Clock in Its Walls follows Lewis, a young orphan who goes to live with his uncle Jonathan in a suburb in Michigan. Jonathan isn’t your average uncle though,…

The Sundance Film Festival, despite its recognition, often produces a mixed bag of quality each year. For every successful and innovative indie like Sorry to Bother You or Mandy, there’s about a dozen of other films that either fail to ever recieve a theatrical push or fall flat on their face (*cough* The Summer of 84). The latest byproduct of the festival is Assassination Nation, which was received as one of the most divisive projects to hit the festival circuit. The film follows Lily (Odessa Young), Bex (Hari Nef), Sarah (Suki Waterhouse), and Em (Abra), four friends whose lives are turned upside down when half of…

LeBron James is perhaps the most influential athlete in America right now, as he continues to grow his persona outside of athletics. Outside of his numerous charity endeavors, LeBron has also pursued a continued role in Hollywood. He was a scene-stealer in the comedy Trainwreck a few years back and has an upcoming role in the new animated film Smallfoot.  After being rumored for numerous years, it appears that LeBron will finally follow his destiny and star in a Space Jam 2. The film will be produced by Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler and directed by HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness director Terence Nance. This announcement was teased with…

Premiering at the Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals earlier this month, White Boy Rick is the latest rise-and-fall gangster film. Despite a few committed performances and a fascinating true story at the film’s core, White Boy Rick is sadly more of a middling mixed bag than an innovative entry for this familiar genre. White Boy Rick follows the true story of Richard Wershe Jr (Richie Merritt), a scrappy teen growing up in Detroit with his gun-dealing dad Richard Sr. (Matthew McConaughey). Once caught by the FBI, Richie is forced to go under cover and sell drugs in order to learn about the drug trade’s inner-workings.…

Despite a highly-successful run on Nickelodeon, Avatar has proven itself too be a difficult show to adapt to live-action. M. Night Shyamalan showed these difficulties in a glaring manor, with his movie adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender being one of the worst films of the millennium. With that films failure, few ever believed the show would get a second chance. It appears that the critics are going to be proven wrong, as Netflix has announced via Twitter that they are going to produce a live-action series adaptation of the show with help from the show’s original producers. Here’s Netflix’s official release: https://twitter.com/seewhatsnext/status/1042073279895224332?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1042073279895224332%7Ctwgr%5E383231323b626f6c6465725f6e6577735f616374696f6e&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcomicbook.com%2Fanime%2F2018%2F09%2F18%2Fnetflix-announces-live-action-avatar-the-last-airbender-series%2F “A…

While some may enjoy the film more than others, its well-regarded that Solo: A Star Wars Story was one of the summer’s biggest disappointments. The film was one of the weakest received Star Wars entries yet and also failed to make a profit at the box office. Personally, I would go as far as calling it the most bland film in the history of Star Wars, which considering the prequels, it’s a tough feat to accomplishments. With the poor performance, many have been questioning whether Solo will return on the big screen after its open-ended conclusion. Writer Jon Kasdan opened up on Twitter about the possibilities of a…
